Department of Economic Opportunity is seeking qualified candidates to fill an Executive Secretary III vacancy.
Under the emergency order, applicants who meet the requirements may be hired for an initial period of up to 90 days, with an opportunity for permanent County employment. Before the end of the initial work period, the work performance will be assessed.
This assessment will be weighted 100%. Those who successfully pass the assessment will be considered for permanent appointment to Executive Secretary III.

One year of experience at the level of Los Angeles County's class of Staff Assistant II assisting the manager of a line operation in a County department.
A Staff Assistant II assists the manager of major division or bureau in a County department by analyzing and making recommendations for the solution of a variety of problems of organization, budget, procedures, systems, program, general management, and personnel.
Two years of experience at the level of Los Angeles County's class of Staff Assistant I assisting the manager of a line operation in a County department.
A Staff Assistant I is responsible for housekeeping and record keeping functions, and conducts administrative studies of internal operations and procedures as an assistant to the manager of a line operation in a County department.
Experience is evaluated on the basis of a verifiable 40-hour week. Prorated part-time experience will be accepted. Include the number of hours worked per week for each position.
A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
This class includes administrative and clerical positions requiring light physical effort that may include occasional light lifting to a 10-pound limit and some bending, stooping, or squatting. Considerable ambulation may be involved.
Performance Evaluation weighted 100%. Those who achieve a passing score on this evaluation will be considered for permanent appointment.
