As an Executive Search Expert - Global Insurance Segment Specialist you operate with a dual mandate of executing complex insurance searches while shaping and scaling global segment capabilities. As a central pillar of the segment, you serve as a trusted partner to consultants and client teams, combining insight with execution to drive outcomes. As Insurance is a strategic priority for the Firm, this role plays a critical part in enabling the segment’s growth ambitions and strengthening its global impact. Working closely with the Global Segment Leaders and Global Practice Specialist, you translate strategy into action, supporting account management, search delivery, and business development efforts. The role is designed to strengthen both commercial impact and execution excellence across the segment.

As a Segment Specialist you have a joint purpose of both executing complex segment assignments as well as leading and developing segment capabilities on a global level. Moreover, you are an essential pillar of the segment, being the Firm-wide, go-to person and thought partner for colleagues and client teams. You partner with the Global Segment Leader and Global Practice Specialist in driving and operationalizing the commercial strategy and internal initiatives of the segment and its practice.

What is the role about:

Community Building & Segment Leadership

  • Build and strengthen a high-performing global Insurance community, acting as a role model and ambassador of Firm values and best-in-class client work
  • Act as a go-to person and trusted partner to consultants, experts, and segment leadership globally
  • Drive coordination and connectivity across teams, ensuring alignment on priorities and effective collaboration across offices
  • Foster knowledge-sharing and cross-segment inspiration, motivating teams to actively contribute insights and best practices
  • Develop a deep understanding of segment capabilities, identifying strengths, gaps, and supporting hiring and team composition decisions

Client Impact & Account Ownership

  • Own and actively manage parts of the Insurance portfolio, supporting priority client relationships and account development
  • Act as a lead expert and execution partner on complex mandates, combining insight generation with hands-on delivery
  • Enable client teams globally with relevant sector insights, talent intelligence, and candidate pipelines
  • Maintain momentum on mandates through proactive tracking, follow-ups, and structured execution
  • Support and shape client conversations by bringing market trends, talent perspectives, and institutional knowledge

Segment Strategy, Knowledge & External Positioning

  • Partner with the Segment Leaders and Global Practice Specialist to shape and evolve the segment’s strategic agenda
  • Build and leverage an external network of experts and thought leaders to stay ahead of industry developments
  • Lead and contribute to thought leadership, white papers, and external content supporting the segment’s market positioning
  • Drive the Knowledge Management strategy including tools, processes, and content aligned with Firm priorities
  • Ensure insights are translated into commercial opportunities and embedded into client work

Execution & Delivery Excellence

  • Drive execution across mandates and internal initiatives by coordinating across teams and ensuring timely, high-quality delivery
  • Act as a critical execution partner on searches, enhancing speed, depth, and precision of candidate identification and pipelines
  • Own and maintain high-quality talent mapping across key insurance sub-segments
  • Maintain visibility, structure, and accountability across segment priorities, tracking progress and ensuring clear communication
  • Enable scalability and consistency by building repeatable approaches, benchmarks, and reusable assets

Requirements

  • Have a university degree and possess excellent English skills.
  • You have min. 8-10 years of experience ideally in the Insurance, Financial Services or Business Consulting fields or similar.
  • Are confident and robust communicators with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively – both verbally and in writing.
  • Have an interest in a wide variety of topics across industry, economy, and society.
  • Having lived and worked internationally or have demonstrable experience working in a professional services environment or in a blue-chip international technology corporation is an advantage.
  • Are confident in using MS Office and various databases, and in online research.
  • Are self-starters with learning agility and an eye for detail.
