Core Description
To provide strategic leadership and direction for the Public Sector sales portfolio, driving sustainable revenue growth, market penetration, and long-term customer value. It is accountable for achieving commercial targets, strengthening executive-level customer engagement, and ensuring disciplined sales execution and governance across the portfolio.
Key Deliverables / Primary Functions
- Define, lead, and execute the Public Sector Direct Sales Strategy, ensuring alignment to overall Group strategic objectives and long-term revenue growth priorities.
- Develop and govern the Business Partner ecosystem strategy, including channel frameworks, operating models, performance standards, and strategic partner relationships to drive scalable market penetration.
- Deliver sustained annual revenue performance across key growth levers, including service revenue, gross connections, ARPU, managed network connectivity, unified communications, and data centre services, while ensuring disciplined cost and operational efficiency.
- Lead enterprise-wide Account Management governance, ensuring consistent implementation of Account Development Plans, structured opportunity qualification, pipeline integrity, and accurate forecasting disciplines.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration across the Telkom Group to ensure a seamless, integrated, and world-class customer experience across all touchpoints in the Public Sector environment.
- Ensure relevance and competitiveness of the global product portfolio, sales campaigns, and go-to-market communications for Public Sector customers, aligning offerings to evolving market and policy needs.
- Establish and direct segmented sales strategies, including customer prioritisation, product alignment, channel optimisation, and differentiated engagement models per Public Sector sub-segment.
- Provide executive leadership to the public service sales team by setting strategic direction, performance expectations, and accountability frameworks across qualitative and quantitative dimensions.
- Build and sustain future leadership capability by driving succession planning, talent development, and organisational bench strength within the sales function and ensure Employment Equity (EE) and Affirmative Action principles compliance.
- Foster a high-performance, enabling organisational culture that drives accountability, innovation, collaboration, and sustained revenue growth.
- Establish and monitor strategic productivity and revenue acceleration frameworks to ensure continuous improvement in sales effectiveness and operational excellence.

Minimum Qualifications
NQF 7: 3 year Bachelors Degree in IT/Business/Commerce or related field
Additional Education -Preferred /Advantage
NQF 8: Honours Degree/ Post Graduate Diploma
Experience
A minimum of eight (8) years’ working experience in a B2B sales environment. Proven track record in Solution sales and exposure to the field of contract management - Commercial environment, ICT or FMCG is a plus.
OR
A minimum of ten (10) years’ working experience in B2B sales environment. Proven track record in Solution sales and exposure to the field of contract management - Commercial environment, ICT or FMCG is a plus.
