Retail Banking Services (RBS) is the public face of CommBank, delivering a seamless banking experience for the future, to our 10 million + personal and small business customers. This is achieved through the end-to-end management of the Banks Home Loan business including distribution through proprietary and third-party channels, acquisition, retention, customer experience, risk, change and continuous improvement.

The Home Buying Manage & Own Crew is responsible for the in-life experience of our Home Loan customers, ensuring customers maximise value from their loan and can seamlessly make changes when they need to. We support customers across all channels, Digital, Proprietary and Third Party Broker as well as our partners in the Group Operations Customer Retention team.

Do work that matters

You will report to the Crew Lead, Manage & Own, and as an Executive Product Owner, you will be able to set the strategic vision and roadmap for the Home Loan Modernisation product in partnership with senior business stakeholders to maximise delivery of business value and support benefits realisation.

You will lead a squad of product and technical capability to solve customer breakpoints and deliver targeted automation across Home Loan in-life experiences. You will influence strategy and be the product leader across the wider variations product area. You will continuously iterate and enhance solutions to create better outcomes and value for customer and stakeholders.

You will move forward with less-than-perfect information, and quickly pivot to changing work demands, and possess the ability to accurately evaluate complex and ambiguous situations to reach timely, objective and informed decisions. You will influence others by communicating value with credibility and authority, working closely with others within, and across other domains.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setting strategic vision and product roadmap across the in-life variations space
  • Influence Home Buying wide initiatives with a customer obsession for in-life loans
  • Accountable for addressing impediments, driving decisions and resolving escalations.
  • Act as the voice of the business and translate this for the squad
  • Establish the value proposition for the product in collaboration with stakeholders (Business and Technology).
  • Incorporate design thinking and analytics to inform product design.
  • Lead a squad and a team of product owners leading aligned squads Provide visible leadership of the CBA values.
  • Lead and develop the product roadmap, and engagement with senior stakeholders/business units (Business, Operations and Technology) to manage the delivery of the product roadmap.
  • Maintain a well prioritised backlog to incrementally deliver business and customer outcomes.
  • Manage the Squad’s performance against defined objectives including OKR tracking, etc.
  • Release prototypes and iterate a product that meets customer needs and achieves the Crew’s goals.
  • Influence senior business and technical stakeholders to ensure that prioritisation is understood and agreed to.

We’re interested in hearing from people who have:

  • Previous leadership experience within financial services, specifically in Home Buying/Home Loan, product management and ownership, as well as process automation.
  • Demonstrated experience in translating product vision to roadmap and backlog.
  • Experience running and delivering large programs of work
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, influencing and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Ability to deliver effective written and verbal updates to senior stakeholders.
  • Experience managing technological and business-aligned cross-functional teams
  • Strong collaboration with teams on work streams/ project activities end-to-end
  • Experience working in an agile environment.
