CBC Sports is looking for an Executive Producer for the 2028 Summer Paralympic Games. Reporting to the Executive Director, the successful candidate will guide and manage the hosts, on-air talent and the programming team. She or he will lead the editorial direction of the program, looking to expand its range and impact, while maintaining its excellence.
The Executive Producer is instrumental in assigning stories to be chased, monitoring development and creating a coverage plan for the Games. The successful candidate will also be expected to mentor and direct producers, on-air talent and the hosts. He or she must have the ability to identify and develop programming talent. The Executive Producer has responsibilities for the resources of the production unit and is expected to contribute to the planning function of the games. The successful candidate is expected to take an active role in department-wide and CBC initiatives.
Plans, conceives, organizes, and/or develops the production and realization of a program segment, program, or series. Work must adhere to CBC journalistic and/or program policies, standards and practices and the Executive Producer is ultimately responsible for ensuring that this occurs. Nevertheless, there is wide latitude for initiative, independent judgment and creativity. There is a regular and ongoing requirement to co-ordinate the work of others.
