Your role
We are looking for an Executive Producer to lead dynamic, creative teams in the planning, development and production of news content. More specifically, you will play a key role in the management and development of journalists and in the production of ICI Nord de l’Ontario and ICI Windsor programming.
Under the authority of the Senior News Manager, there is a regular and ongoing requirement for you to plan, direct and co-ordinate the work of others, effectively communicate the programs’ strategic objectives and oversee the development of teams and their performance. You are expected to have strong, proven leadership abilities and a high level of competence in news. The job requires the highest level of creative thinking and an ability to originate and develop innovative program or production concepts. You must work strategically with internal and external partners as well as collaborate with other team leaders to plan and promote cross-platform content.
Work must adhere to CBC/Radio-Canada journalistic and/or program policies, standards and practices, and you must lead your teams to ensure that this occurs.
While the job requires the ability to think strategically, you must be able to make immediate decisions in complex and stressful environments, and have ultimate accountability for radio programming results.
You must also be an experienced journalist, confident and innovative, and comfortable with high-pressure situations. You need to be a strong motivational leader, capable of managing people as well as complex journalistic situations.
