The Role

The Executive Planning Consultant (EPC) is responsible for building, maintaining, and deepening relationships with executives and management leaders of Workplace benefit plan clients. In this role, you will leverage your planning expertise and relationship management skills to co-create comprehensive wealth planning solutions tailored to executive clients’ needs. Serving as a primary financial planning resource, you will support executives who typically have $1 million or less in combined workplace and retail assets. This includes planning needs such as college planning, savings goals and early retirement planning.

You will partner with VP Executive Planning Consultants within a wealth management team to support executives’ advanced planning needs and be an integral part of a cross-company team consisting of Managing Director(s), Benefits Planning Consultants, Benefits Relationship Managers and other executive services associates. Your understanding of the financial planning process and the needs of highly compensated executives are prime attributes as you deepen relationships and help engage new executives.  

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Series 7 and 66 licenses required
  • Insurance license required or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • CFP (Certified Financial Planner) designation encouraged
  • CEP (Certified Equity Professional) designation encouraged
  • Experience working with executives and employee benefit plans
  • Demonstrated ability to understand clients’ unique financial situations and recommend appropriate solutions
  • Strong knowledge of brokerage, insurance, investment management, estate planning, financial planning, and retirement planning
  • Ability to assist clients while successfully incorporating Fidelity’s planning, guidance and service technology, and the financial planning knowledge and complex regulatory obligations imposed by required licenses
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Exceptional presentation skills in both one-on-one and group settings
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to influence executive decision-making
  • Effective practice management and execution skills 
  • Ability to thoughtfully introduce executives to range of investment strategies while identifying opportunities to consolidate additional assets

  • Travel up to 25% as needed

The Team

As an integral member of a collaborative team, that includes Managing Directors, Benefits Planning Consultants, Benefits Relationship Managers, and other Executive Services professionals, you will help deliver a seamless client experience. You will also partner with Vice President, Executive Planning Consultants to refer executives with higher asset levels or more sophisticated planning needs requiring advanced wealth management strategies.

The Executive Planning Consultant provides planning and guidance for Fidelity’s Workplace Investing executive clients and operates within Fidelity’s Investor Services business unit. We are a leading provider of investment management, retirement planning, family conversations, portfolio guidance, brokerage, benefits outsourcing, and many other financial products and services. Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model

Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.

The base salary range for this position is $79,000-153,000 USD per year.

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
