Executive Payroll - Automotive Business

We are in the process of identifying a suitable candidate for the role of Executive Payroll This role will be based in Bangalore (Preferred)/Pune and will report to the Manager-People Service Specialist.

To manage and support end-to-end payroll operations across multiple legal entities/ Centralised encompassing both blue-collar and management staff. The role ensures accurate and timely salary processing, statutory compliance, reconciliation, and efficient query resolution, while collaborating closely with HR, Finance, and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities (or What you can expect in the role)

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processes, including Full & Final settlements for white-collar and overseas employees, along with payroll validation for blue-collar employees across locations.
  • Prepare and validate salary payout files and coordinate with banks/treasury teams for timely salary disbursement.
  • Perform monthly payroll reconciliations, including:
    • Validation of payroll inputs and attendance
    • Employee-wise reconciliation of salary registers with prior month data
    • Verification of statutory deductions such as Income Tax, Provident Fund, Pension, ESIC, and Professional Tax
    • Ensuring timely bank file uploads and approvals
    • Processing of Full and Final settlements
  • Collaborate with Finance for salary journal entries and monthly provisioning.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities within defined timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws and statutory regulations.
  • Ensure timely remittance of statutory dues and payroll-related deductions (PF, PT, ESIC, Pension, etc.).
  • Manage filing of quarterly e-TDS returns and issuance of Form 16.
  • Maintain monthly payroll-related GL schedules in Excel and AICO systems.
  • Perform reconciliation between payroll registers and General Ledger on quarterly and annual basis.
  • Manage monthly variable provisioning, quarterly sales incentive calculations, and annual variable payouts, along with reconciliation and provisioning.
  • Support audits, including Group, Quarterly, Statutory, and Internal Audits.
  • Consolidate and validate employee data for actuarial valuation reports.
  • Address employee payroll queries related to salary, taxes, deductions, and benefits with timely and clear resolutions.
  • Maintain a high level of service orientation to enhance employee experience.
  • Generate payroll MIS reports, including variance analysis and headcount reconciliation.
  • Maintain comprehensive payroll documentation, SOPs, and audit trails.
  • Drive automation and payroll process improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate with payroll system vendors for system enhancements and updates.

Requirements (or We expect you to have/be)

  • Graduate/Postgraduate in Commerce; MBA in HR or Finance preferred.
  • 8–10 years of experience in payroll management and financial compliance in medium to large organizations.
