About the role

As Executive Pastry Chef at The Park Gstaad, A Four Seasons Hotel, you will be responsible for the leadership and day-to-day management of all pastry and bakery operations within the hotel, ensuring exceptional product quality, consistency, creativity, and guest satisfaction across all outlets, banquets, events, and in-room dining.

Reporting to the Executive Chef, you will lead the Pastry and Bakery team in delivering outstanding pastry, bakery, chocolate, dessert, and confectionery experiences. Combining creativity and craftsmanship with strong operational leadership, you will develop signature creations and seasonal concepts while driving product excellence, team performance, cost control, and operational efficiency across the hotel.

The position is planned to start in February 2027, allowing you to play an integral role throughout the pre-opening phase and in shaping the pastry and bakery identity of The Park Gstaad ahead of its opening.

What you will do

  • Lead and manage all pastry and bakery operations across the hotel.

  • Drive innovation, creativity, and product excellence across all pastry offerings.

  • Ensure consistent quality, presentation, and execution of desserts, bakery items, chocolate, confectionery, and specialty products.

  • Develop seasonal menus, signature items, and guest-focused culinary experiences.

  • Develop and oversee the hotel’s amenity program, including in-room amenities, guest recognition offerings, signature creations, and seasonal specialty products.

  • Support outlet, banqueting, event, and in-room dining operations through exceptional pastry production.

  • Lead, develop, mentor, and retain a high-performing Pastry and Bakery team.

  • Drive financial performance through effective food cost control, production planning, workflow management, and operational efficiency.

  • Support seasonal concepts, special events, VIP experiences, and bespoke guest requests.

  • Ensure the highest standards of food safety, HACCP, hygiene, health and safety, and regulatory compliance.

  • Build strong relationships with suppliers, local producers, specialty food vendors, and industry partners.

  • Support hotel opening activities, culinary innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What you bring

  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in luxury pastry, bakery, or dessert operations within luxury hotels, resorts, or fine dining establishments.

  • Degree, Diploma, or recognized professional qualification in Pastry Arts, Culinary Arts, or a related field.

  • Exceptional technical expertise across pastry, bakery, chocolate, dessert, and confectionery production.

  • Strong creative ability with a passion for developing distinctive signature products and exceptional guest experiences.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, develop, and engage a high-performing pastry team.

  • Proven ability to maintain exceptional product quality, presentation, consistency, and operational standards.

  • Strong planning and organizational skills with experience in food cost control, production planning, and operational efficiency.

  • Food Safety and Hygiene Certification.

  • Advanced Pastry, Bakery, Chocolate, or Culinary certifications are advantageous.

  • Fluent English required. Additional languages are advantageous.

  • A proactive, professional, and quality-driven approach.

  • In accordance with Swiss employment regulations, only candidates holding Swiss or EU/EFTA citizenship, or a valid Swiss work authorization, can be considered for this position.

Schedule & Hours

  • Full-time, permanent position with flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays per seasonality.

  • Seasonal operation with primary opening periods from June to September and December to March.
