Wangaratta or Wodonga | Part-Time (30 hours per week, negotiable)

Merriwa Industries is seeking an experienced and highly organised Executive Officer to provide executive, governance and administrative support to our Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the CFO, you will provide high-level executive support while serving as Board Secretary and governance coordinator.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing executive calendars, appointments and competing priorities
  • Coordinating executive communications and correspondence
  • Preparing reports, presentations, briefing papers and business documentation
  • Organising meetings, travel and executive events
  • Serving as Board Secretary, including agenda preparation, minute-taking and action tracking
  • Coordinating Board and Committee meeting processes
  • Maintaining governance records and compliance documentation
  • Monitoring organisational commitments, actions and deadlines
  • Supporting strategic projects and organisational initiatives
  • Building strong relationships with executives, managers, Board members and external stakeholders

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Proven experience supporting a CEO, CFO or senior executive
  • Exceptional written communication and document preparation skills
  • Experience coordinating Board and Committee processes
  • Strong governance, compliance and organisational skills
  • Outstanding attention to detail and time management capability
  • The confidence to work with senior stakeholders and respectfully follow through on commitments
  • Sound judgement, discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information
  • Advanced Microsoft 365 skills including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams

Desirable Experience

  • Experience in a social enterprise, not-for-profit or purpose-driven organisation
  • Governance or Board Secretariat experience
  • Tertiary qualifications in business administration, governance, management or a related field
  • Experience supporting organisational projects and strategic initiatives

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.
