Job Description

Executive Officer in the Faculty of Social Sciences (Ref.: 536415) to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

Applicants should possess a good Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years’ solid work experience. They should be self-motivated, possess a strong sense of responsibility and a positive attitude, and have the ability to multi-task and work independently with minimal supervision while under pressure to meet tight deadlines. A good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua and Cantonese); effective interpersonal, organisational and communication skills; as well as an appropriate level of IT skills are essential. Those with work experience in tertiary institutions would have an advantage.

The appointee will be responsible for supporting the Faculty’s research administration and development, including management of research grant applications and funding schemes, project management support for various research support activities, programmes and events under the Faculty and its research clusters, as well as report preparation and data collection on the Faculty’s research and knowledge exchange performance. They will also assist in the development, implementation and enhancement of strategic plans and policies for research, liaise with internal and external stakeholders, and perform any other duties as assigned. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
