Job Description

Transformation Manager

(Fixed Term Contract:12 Months)

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (preferred)

We are also open to applications from candidates based in the UK or Hong Kong.

At Clarks, we're entering an exciting new phase of transformation. Following a significant period of business change, we're now focused on improving how we work, simplifying processes and creating a more efficient, effective organisation. To help drive this agenda, we're looking for a Transformation Manager to join our team on a fixed-term basis.

This is a highly visible role that will work across functions, geographies and leadership levels to identify opportunities for improvement, redesign processes and help deliver meaningful change across the business.

The Opportunity

This is not a traditional project management role.

We're looking for someone who enjoys getting under the skin of how a business operates, challenging existing ways of working and partnering with stakeholders to create better solutions. You'll work closely with business and technology teams to understand current processes, identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies, and help implement practical improvements that deliver real value.

You'll have the opportunity to influence transformation initiatives across multiple functions including areas such as merchandising, supply chain, HR, finance, sourcing and technology, while engaging with senior stakeholders across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with business leaders, process owners and functional teams to understand existing processes and ways of working
  • Map, analyse and challenge current processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks and improvement opportunities
  • Develop practical solutions that improve operational effectiveness and stakeholder experience
  • Facilitate workshops and discussions to build alignment around proposed changes
  • Drive process improvement and transformation initiatives from problem definition through to implementation
  • Coordinate multiple transformation workstreams and ensure progress is effectively tracked and communicated
  • Build strong relationships across functions, regions and stakeholder groups
  • Support broader operational excellence and business transformation activities as the programme evolves
  • Work closely with IT and business teams to ensure solutions are practical, scalable and sustainable

About You

You'll be a proactive and commercially minded transformation professional who combines strong analytical skills with excellent stakeholder engagement capabilities.

You'll be comfortable working in a fast-moving environment, navigating ambiguity and influencing people at all levels of the organisation.

We would love to hear from you if you have:

  • Experience in transformation, process improvement, operational excellence, continuous improvement, change management or related disciplines
  • A proven track record of improving, redesigning or challenging business processes and delivering measurable outcomes
  • Strong process mapping and analysis skills
  • Experience engaging and influencing stakeholders across multiple functions and levels of seniority
  • The ability to build relationships, challenge constructively and drive change through others
  • Experience managing projects, programmes or transformation workstreams
  • A self-starting approach with the confidence to identify opportunities and take initiative
  • Experience working in a complex, matrix or multinational organisation

It would be advantageous if you have:

  • Retail, consumer goods or consumer brand experience
  • Consulting or internal consulting experience
  • Experience working with technology, digital transformation, automation or AI-led improvements
  • Exposure to global stakeholder groups across different regions and cultures

Why Join Clarks?

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in shaping how a globally recognised brand operates. You'll work closely with senior leaders, gain exposure to high-profile transformation initiatives and help drive meaningful improvements across the business.

You'll join a collaborative team where your ideas, expertise and ability to influence change will have a genuine impact.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary
  • Career development and progression opportunities
  • Fast-paced and dynamic environment with exposure to senior stakeholders
  • Comprehensive benefits package

Why Join Us?

At Clarks, we're committed to creating an environment where talented people can do their best work. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a significant transformation agenda, work with stakeholders across the globe and make a measurable impact on how we operate as a business.

About Clarks

It began with a flash of inspiration. It was 1825 in the Somerset village of Street and James Clark was busy working at the tannery owned by his brother, Cyrus. Among the sheepskin rugs, the off-cuts and cast-offs were piling up when James had a brainwave: “Slippers!”. And the rest, as they say, is history. A few stitches and a few years later, the sheepskin slipper was born.

It was the very first Clarks shoe and the opening chapter in a remarkable story that continues to unfold to this day. In the decades that have passed since the young Mr. Clark’s eureka moment our shoes have seen social, political and economic revolution. They’ve seen fashions in footwear come and go, and come again – everything from court shoes and winklepickers to wedge heels, sandals and sneakers. They’ve tapped to the beat of crooners, rockers, Britpoppers and hip hoppers. They’ve walked, marched, strode and sashayed through an ever-changing world.

New technology, state-of the-art facilities and our love of shoes means we’re not only the number one shoe brand in the UK. With continuing growth in North America, Western and Eastern Europe, India and China, we’re also the world’s largest casual and smart shoe company and the fourth largest footwear company on the planet.

We’ve come a long way since Cyrus and James Clark and the ‘Brown Petersburg’. But their vision and passion live on in our shoes. You could say we’re following in their footsteps.
