Executive ‐ Material Innovations

(Based at Biyagama)

This Role ensures landscape, Research, and experiment new yarns, advanced textile materials, advanced textile

chemistry & auxiliaries, while establishing connectivity with local and global yarn spinners,advanced textile and chemical manufactures that help facilitate data/fact - driven innovative material development towards the advancement of Materials Innovation within MAS Kreeda Innovation.o

Key Responsibilities

• Explore, Assess, Ideate, Experiment on advanced performance Materials to deliver material related explore ideas to the material team and cross functional entities in an effective manner.
• Provide IP Landscaping, FTO and Literacy Surveys to inform materials teams on advancement of technologies pertaining to advanced yarn, materials and chemistry, and new trends in order to help inform, develop and execute new materials.
• Research patents, Global Textile and Apparel trends and summarize technical briefs to the materials team in order to ensure timely review and accommodation of the relevant research patents, trends into idea exploration and concept generation.
• Source materials and maintain inventory in an effective and accurate manner in order to facilitate smooth material trial development and progress.
• Collaborate with Innovators, Fabric developers and Manufacturing Mills and assist the development & Execution of concepts and ideas to establish strong strategies to commercialize new innovations into textile products.
• Ensure that the environment, safety and health standards of the organization are adhered to while actively contributing towards promoting a culture of safety and environmental consciousness within and outside the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Materials Technology, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of relevant work experience in a similar capacity.
• Applied knowledge of polymer science, yarn technology, and material development.
• Data-driven and informed approach to material development, with innovative problem-solving capabilities.
• Knowledge of yarns, materials science, textile science, polymer science, and textile chemistry will be an added advantage.
• Proficiency in using mainstream IT applications is essential.
