At CommBank, technology is central to how we serve millions of customers every day. We’re seeking an Executive Manager Technology Strategy to help shape the future direction of one of Australia’s largest technology organisations.

This senior role will partner with leaders across Technology and the broader Group to solve complex problems, shape key strategic decisions, and influence how CommBank invests, transforms and delivers through technology.

The Technology Strategy team brings clarity and alignment across Technology and the broader Group. We lead high-impact strategic work across CommBank's Technology function and act as trusted advisors, shaping strategic direction, aligning resources and investment to outcomes, and accelerating decision-making.

What you'll be doing

Reporting to the GM Strategy, you'll bring structure to complex and ambiguous challenges, turning insight into clear recommendations, decisions and action.

You'll be a trusted advisor to senior Technology leaders, helping shape, refine and execute CommBank's Technology Strategy.

• Lead strategic problem-solving and special projects on complex, enterprise-critical topics.

• Translate strategic priorities into clear choices, narratives, plans and execution pathways.

• Drive the annual strategy, planning and investment cycle for Technology.

• Develop executive-level materials and strategic narratives that support decision-making and drive action.

• Shape investment priorities through robust analysis, commercial judgement and strategic recommendations.

• Identify opportunities to accelerate transformation and improve organisational effectiveness.

• Communicate complex ideas clearly and compellingly to executive audiences.

• Support senior leaders to navigate trade-offs, ambiguity and competing priorities.

• Influence across functions, teams and leadership groups without relying on formal authority.

We're interested in people who

• Bring executive management-level experience in enterprise-wide strategy & transformation advisory and delivery roles, with a track record of translating strategy into measurable outcomes.

• ​Partner effectively with EGM and GM stakeholders, constructively challenging thinking to improve decision-making and accelerate execution.

• Demonstrate exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including developing executive materials, investment proposals and presenting to senior leaders.

• Use AI tools to enhance strategic analysis, productivity and the quality of executive outputs.

• Bring an external perspective and contemporary thinking to help Technology stay ahead of emerging trends.

• Have deep curiosity for technology, innovation and market developments, with the ability to translate insights into strategic implications.

• Possess strong awareness of AI, engineering, platforms, cyber, data, digital transformation and evolving operating models.

• Can move seamlessly between big-picture strategy and practical execution.
