Job Description

Create impact and join Risk Division as an Executive Manager, Technology Risk (UNITE)

What’s the role?

This role will play a crucial part of the UNITE team. UNITE is our business-led, tech-enabled transformation, and a key priority for the Group. UNITE is about delivering 'one best way' to make our processes, systems and tech simpler so we can deliver a better experience for our customers and make things easier for our people.

As an Executive Manager, Technology Risk (UNITE), you’ll provide second line oversight, insight, and challenge over technology and cyber risks across the UNITE transformation program.

Sitting within the Risk Division, you’ll support the Head of Technology Risk and divisional Chief Risk Officers to ensure change execution risks are identified, assessed, and managed in line with Westpac’s Three Lines of Defence model. You’ll attend key governance forums, review and challenge material changes, provide risk insights to senior stakeholders, and escalate emerging or material risks where required.

This role is fully dedicated to UNITE, combining deep technical expertise with strong risk judgement to help ensure transformation outcomes are delivered safely and within risk appetite.

This is a Sydney‑based role, with flexible work options (3 days in office)

What do I need?

  • Deep experience in technology and/or cyber risk advisory, ideally within large‑scale transformation programs
  • Strong background providing second- or third-line risk oversight, including review, challenge, and risk insight
  • Experience assessing technology controls, control design, and control effectiveness
  • Proven ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders, including executives and governance forums
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical risk into business insight
  • Relevant industry qualifications (e.g. CISSP, CISM, CRISC) and a relevant tertiary degree

Why join us?
