What’s the role?

As Executive Manager, DDAI Oversight, you’ll provide independent 2nd Line risk oversight, insight, and challenge across Data, Digital, and AI (DDAI) initiatives. You’ll assess and monitor material risks in projects, product launches, and business changes, ensuring risk management is embedded and aligned to Westpac’s Three Lines of Defence model.

You’ll drive thematic reviews, support risk culture uplift, and deliver risk insights to senior stakeholders and governance forums. This role partners closely with 1st Line Business Controls & Monitoring teams, attends key steering committees, and contributes to senior management reporting and risk committee outputs.

This is a Permanent fulltime Sydney‑based role, with flexible work options (3 days in office)

What do I need?

  • Extensive experience in risk advisory, consulting, or relevant risk business units
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, communication, and senior stakeholder management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to provide independent review, challenge, and oversight across complex change initiatives
  • Awareness of and passion for AI, digital transformation, and emerging technology risks
  • Experience in 1st and/or 2nd Line of Defence risk roles, with practical understanding of risk frameworks and controls
  • Capability to influence, collaborate, and drive risk culture uplift across business units
