An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced operational leader to join Mortgage Operations as Executive Manager, Certifications & Settlements. Reporting to the Head of Mortgage Operations, you'll lead a large-scale national function responsible for the successful certification and settlement of home lending applications across Westpac's mortgage portfolio.

Leading a geographically dispersed team of more than 600 employees and partner resources across Australia and offshore, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional customer and broker outcomes while driving operational excellence, performance and continuous improvement.

How you'll make an impact

  • Lead a national post-approval mortgage operations function spanning document preparation, certification and end-to-end settlement delivery
  • Drive service, risk, customer and financial performance outcomes across a large and complex operational environment
  • Lead and develop a high-performing leadership team across multiple locations
  • Partner with stakeholders across Mortgages, Consumer Banking and Operations to improve customer and broker outcomes
  • Identify opportunities to simplify processes, strengthen controls and improve operational efficiency
  • Champion a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and proactive risk management
  • Build strong relationships across the mortgages value chain to influence and deliver strategic business outcomes

What you'll bring

We're seeking a proven senior leader with deep experience within mortgage, lending or banking operations environments.

You'll bring:

  • Significant experience leading large-scale operational teams through senior leaders
  • Strong knowledge of mortgage operations, lending fulfilment, settlements or related banking functions
  • A track record of delivering customer, risk, operational and financial performance outcomes
  • Experience leading geographically dispersed and offshore-enabled teams
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing capability
  • Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking skills
  • A passion for developing high-performing teams and future leaders
