The Executive Lead for Global SMB Engineering is the senior technology executive for Global Payments' SMB business worldwide. The role reports to the Global CTO, sits on the CTO's leadership team and is the engineering counterpart to the President of SMB. It carries full accountability for technology strategy, engineering delivery and platform health across a global organization of around 3,500 people.
This role sets the leadership direction for SMB engineering and owns the platforms behind our SMB products, which serve over 6 million merchants.
The role has two priorities: keep delivering the products merchants rely on today, and modernize the platforms behind them for the next decade.
Modernization includes standardizing and simplifying our product estate to remove duplication. It also means moving to API first, cloud native, event driven architecture, setting one standard for how software is built, tested and operated across SMB, and making a step change in developer productivity.
The role partners closely with Product leadership and the business to decide what we build, what we buy, and which technology partners we work with. It leads engineering delivery against those plans and is measured on results against growth, reliability and security targets.
This leader helps decide where Global Payments competes and how it wins. The role needs deep business knowledge, a global view and the ability to keep changing as the business and the market change.
