EXECUTIVE - INTERNAL AUDIT
Ceylon Cold Stores PLC (CCS), manufacturer of Elephant House Beverages and Ice Creams is a leading consumer food company in Sri Lanka. CCS is a subsidiary of John Keells Holdings PLC.
The company is seeking a suitable candidate for the position of Executive – Internal Audit on a contract basis, based in Ranala. The role involves conducting market audits across retail and distribution channels to ensure adherence to company policies, accuracy of trade practices, and integrity of financial records. The successful candidate will also be responsible for promptly communicating observations identified during market visits to management and providing timely reports of findings with recommendations for corrective actions.
Job Responsibilities
- Conducting ad-hoc reviews to test and evaluate key risk areas related to trade claims.
- Verifying the accuracy of trade claims, ensuring alignment with company policies and procedures, and maintaining proper documentation.
- Carrying out thorough market audits of the company’s trade claims.
- Preparing and communicating timely observations and recommendations on internal controls to stakeholders and management and following up on the effective implementation of action plans within agreed timelines.
- Supporting projects focused on cost savings and process improvements in areas identified through internal audits.
Person Specifications
- Part-qualified in Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA) or CIMA/ACCA.
- A degree in Management, Finance, or Accounting will be an added advantage.
- 2–3 years of experience in conducting market audits, with exposure to risk assessment, internal controls, and compliance in the manufacturing or FMCG industries will be a definite advantage.
- Understanding operational and distribution processes, effective process management, and the sales and distribution environment in manufacturing companies will be an added advantage.
- Experience working with sales systems and distribution platforms or SAP ERP, with the ability to analyze and audit trade-related data, would be an added advantage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Sinhala; basic proficiency in Tamil would be an advantage in operations.
- Independent and self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision, and a strong team player capable of collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to travel within the country when required.
