Job Description

Supervises the daily operation of the housekeeping department and directs the work activities of all assigned personnel including houseman, room attendants, lobby/lounge (breakfast) and laundry attendants, to ensure clean, orderly, and attractive conditions of all guest rooms and public areas of the property. Maintains liaison with Maintenance to achieve the company’s objectives.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains compliance with the company policies, practices, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Implements and maintains departmental cleaning quality standards and procedures.
  • Assigns rooms to be cleaned to room attendants daily.
  • Inspects all rooms and common areas each day to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Supervises the day-to –day operation of the department and work activities of assigned personnel.
  • Confers and cooperates with the other property personnel to resolve operating problems and ensures coordination of property activities of assigned personnel.
  • Interviews and recommends new personnel as needed.
  • Implements training programs for all assigned personnel and assures that ongoing training is provided.
  • Initiates and recommends personnel actions, including employee counseling sessions, reprimands, performance appraisals and terminations.
  • Reports to the General Manager significant results, problems, and personnel actions regarding assigned personnel.
  • Conducts department meetings for all personnel.
  • Conducts a period ending inventory of supplies and linen.
  • Completes purchase requests and submits to General Manager for approval.
  • Places orders with vendors for approved purchases.
  • Checks and records pertinent comments into front desk log.
  • Executes other associated responsibilities as directed by the General Manager.
  • Reports in proper uniform, which is cleaned and pressed.
  • Assigns daily duties for Houseman to complete.
  • Responsible for training of assigned personnel to ensure quality standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
