MyTOWN Shopping Centre is a super-regional shopping centre for friends and family on the fringes of the Central Business District of Kuala Lumpur. The shopping centre is a one-stop destination for shopping, dining and entertainment with more than 400 stores. PURPOSE OF THE FUNCTION

The Event & Casual Leasing function drives footfall, commercial vibrancy, and short-term leasing revenue by optimising promotional spaces, event areas, and advertising panels within the mall. The function supports overall business performance by enhancing customer experience, increasing tenant sales opportunities, and ensuring operational excellence in line with MyTOWN commercial strategy.

Responsible

  • Source and secure short-term tenants for promotional spaces, push carts, storage space and common areas.
  • Attend to enquiries and manage bookings for advertising panels and promotional spaces.
  • Prepare proposals, booking forms, and related leasing documentation in accordance with SOP.
  • Coordinate event setup and dismantling in compliance with approved demarcation plans.
  • Ensure event spaces are presentable, safe, and operationally ready.
  • Monitor rental billing and follow up on collection of promotional space rentals.
  • Maintain accurate records and filing of leasing documents.
  • Build and maintain relationships with tenants, vendors, and event organizers.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with mall guidelines.
  • Identify and execute leasing opportunities aligned with peak trading activities

Accountable

  • Achievement of assigned revenue targets for event and casual leasing spaces.
  • Accuracy and compliance of leasing documentation and processes.
  • Timely coordination and execution of approved events and promotional activities.
  • Proper management of allocated promotional spaces to maximise utilisation.
  • Ensuring adherence to mall policies, safety requirements, and operational standards.

Contribute

  • Provide input to leasing strategy and pricing recommendations.
  • Support marketing campaigns and mall-wide promotional activities.
  • Contribute insights on retail trends, competitors, and emerging opportunities.
  • Assist in vendor evaluation and performance feedback.
  • Support cross-functional coordination with Operations, Marketing, and Finance teams

Qualifications

  • Understanding of short-term leasing structures and mall promotional space management.
  • Basic lease negotiation and lease administration knowledge.
  • Knowledge of event planning and execution (e.g., activations, product launches, seasonal events).
  • Familiarity with budgeting principles and KPI monitoring.
  • Awareness of retail industry trends and competitive landscape.
  • Understanding of tenant relationship management practices.
  • Knowledge of mall operational procedures and compliance requirements.
  • Risk identification and mitigation awareness in event execution.
  • Proficient in written and spoken Bahasa Malaysia and English. Mandarin proficiency (written and spoken) is an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and standard office applications.
