In this role, you'll:
Join the Legal and Audit Division of Sydney Metro that provides legal services covering a broad range of matters across Sydney Metro project delivery and operations to ensure resources, frameworks and strategies align to organisational requirements. The division ensures that legal advice and services provided support the achievement of overarching organisational objectives in a highly regulated environment and comply with all legislative and regulatory requirements.
Lead and develop one of Sydney Metro’s legal projects branches to provide expert legal advice and the delivery of legal solutions covering a range of legal services across Construction and Major Projects, PPPs, Project Procurement, delivery, operations and claims management.
Engage and partner with the Chief Legal Counsel and other Senior Executives, including Board members, and key internal clients to provide a significant contribution to achieving the delivery of agency programs and goals, including leading complex negotiations and providing legal advice and solutions in response to complex problems and legal risks.
Lead and guide a team, ensuring high quality legal advice is provided, robust governance and risk frameworks are in place, and project management principles are applied.
Maximise the value and quality of legal services delivered by the division by optimising the mix of internal and external service delivery, by ensuring staff potential is maximised, staffing capacities are fully utilised, work is high quality, and corporate processes and systems are fully implemented.
Ensure systematic and strategic risks and legal issues are identified and raised with the Chief Legal Counsel and proactively work with senior managers to facilitate solutions.
This is a full-time Temporary Opportunity of up to 4 years Transport Senior Service Executive TSSE2A level role offering an attractive remuneration package, the role is based at our George St office.
