Executive Director, Enterprise NFR Analytics Insights

Department Profile

NFR Data & Analytics is a function in the Legal and Compliance Division responsible for designing and optimizing surveillance models, approaches and tools using advanced analytical techniques like supervised and unsupervised machine learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP) and evolving techniques like graph analytics. Surveillance solutions and other tools help identify suspicious and/or illegal behaviors like money laundering, market manipulation, insider trading, unfair sales or trading practices and other financial crimes.

As Executive Director, Enterprise NFR Analytics Insights, you will own and execute the AI enablement agenda within Enterprise Non-Financial Risk. You will serve as a thought leader, partnering with NFR framework owners and risk managers to generate actionable insights that enable more focused risk management and data-driven decision-making.

You will drive the development and adoption of datasets and capabilities across key Enterprise NFR framework components including Risk, Controls, Metrics and Issue Management. Working closely with the Head of Data Enablement and Semantics and the Head of Analytics Solutions, you will translate complex NFR frameworks and ambiguous business needs into valuable analytics solutions.

What You'll Do
> Own the roadmap for Analytics Insights in Enterprise NFR/ORD, ensuring alignment with NFR framework, governance standards.
> Drive AI initiatives such as 'Talk to Your Data' as a key contributor, enabling insights to be made available for decision-making through the creation and publication of the right datasets for consumption.
> Lead the design and delivery of analytics capabilities that enhance NFR data enrichment, relationship understanding, and insight generation using traditional and AI-enabled approaches.
> Develop and execute risk assessment methodologies, metrics frameworks, and scenario analysis capabilities that provide early indication of risk trends and concentrations across Enterprise NFR and ORD.
> Translate NFR framework, governance, and policy requirements into structured problem statements and scalable analytics solutions that deliver measurable business value.
> Establish feedback mechanisms to continuously enhance AI solutions and ensure analytics outputs meet quality, accuracy, and timeliness standards.
> Partner with Data Enablement and Semantics leadership to ensure strong alignment on semantic architecture, data models, and analytics platform delivery.
> Engage with senior stakeholders to shape strategic communications that connect risk insights to business outcomes.
> Lead executive-level demonstrations to drive adoption, sponsorship, and change around data-driven NFR management.
> Ensure all analytics and AI use cases operate in line with enterprise governance requirements, including lifecycle controls, registration discipline, and go-live guardrails. Who You Are
> A seasoned Non Financial Risk analytics leader with deep expertise in translating complex regulatory and operational requirements into actionable insights and scalable analytics platforms.
> Proven thought leadership in NFR framework analytics solution development.
> Able to drive organizational change through data-driven decision-making, bridge technical concepts with business value and user centric delivery.
> Comfortable operating as a senior individual contributor, partnering across functions to deliver high-impact outcomes.
> Passionate about shaping strategy and delivering meaningful impact through Data & AI.

Required Skills
> Master's degree in a quantitative, technical, or business-related field
> 10+ years of experience in Non-Financial Risk analytics, compliance analytics, or operational risk management within a regulated financial services environment
> Proven track record of designing and delivering NFR analytics platforms that transform data into actionable insights for risk management
> Demonstrated ability to translate NFR governance, policy, and regulatory requirements into structured analytics solutions and problem statements
> Strong background in advanced analytics methodologies, including traditional statistical techniques, machine learning, and AI-enabled insight generation
> Experience establishing analytics roadmaps, operating models, and governance frameworks that ensure initiatives are auditable, policy-compliant, and aligned with enterprise standards
> Proven ability to drive adoption of analytics capabilities at scale, embedding solutions into business-as-usual operations with measurable impact on insight delivery timeliness, consistency, and accuracy
> Executive-level stakeholder management and communication skills

Desirable Skills
> Hands-on experience with advanced analytics tools and platforms
> Experience with NLP ML techniques, LLMs, RAG workflows, and agentic AI systems applied to NFR and compliance use cases
> Working knowledge of enterprise AI governance and lifecycle expectations, including registration/inventory discipline, approvals readiness, and production grade guardrails
> Background in developing risk assessment methodologies, key risk indicators (KRIs), and scenario analysis frameworks for Enterprise NFR and Operational Risk
> Experience working across global teams and multiple regulatory regimes (e.g., FINMA, FCA, Federal Reserve, OCC)
> Familiarity with data centric design methodologies and product ownership approaches to analytics delivery

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $165,000 and $275,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
