
The Executive Director, Corporate Development is responsible for leading strategic growth initiatives and transactions focused on accelerating growth and expanding Xeris’s pipeline. This may include in-licensing, out-licensing, and co-development/co-promotion transactions as well as supporting organic portfolio management and prioritization. The position will contribute to corporate strategy and lead the identification and execution of transactions.
• Identify new opportunities to support existing franchises and portfolio expansion• Drive the deal process from first contact with potential partners to execution of agreements• Lead evaluation and diligence of new opportunities across all relevant functions • Ensure that all efforts are focused on value-creation and revenue acceleration by defining true north for all opportunities and getting to fast failure when appropriate• Collaborate with franchise commercial leads to align inorganic efforts to business needs• Present regular updates to Executive Management• Foster a culture centered on collaboration, excellence, and execution• Maintain a broad network of relationships in the biopharmaceutical industry that help create and inform strategic initiatives • Performs other duties and projects as needed.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, or other related life sciences. Advanced technical or business degree preferred.• Minimum of 10+ years in business development, corporate development, strategy, and/or portfolio management in the pharmaceutical industry. • Proven success in identifying, sourcing, and closing transactions that deliver incremental value • Demonstrated ability connecting the technical and commercial sides of the business• Competencies: Strong Business Acumen, Executive Presence, Strategic Leadership, Innovative, Skilled Communicator, Complex Problem Solving, Financial Modeling, Results-Driven, Self-Motivated, Highly Organized
• Working Conditions: Position may require periodic evening and weekend work, as necessary to fulfill obligations. Periodic overnight travel, approximately 25%. This is a hybrid role based in Xeris’ Chicago office and requires a minimum of three days per week in the office. On-site requirement may change at management’s discretion.
The level of the position will be determined based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $250,000 to $310,000. Final determination of base salary offered will depend on several factors relevant to the position, including but not limited to candidate skills, experience, education, market location, and business need. This role will include eligibility for bonus and equity. The total compensation package will also include additional elements such as multiple paid time off benefits, various health insurance options, retirement benefits and more.
