About the Role:

Responsible for the strategic planning, direction and leadership of all brand activities and initiatives for VYKAT® XR. Drives the brand team in the development and execution of marketing strategies and programs, and collaborates closely with cross-functional partners to ensure a successful commercialization in support of business objectives.

Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):

  • Develops and authorizes implementation of strategic plans for the commercialization team

  • Drives the implementation of new ideas and approaches to ensure successful commercialization of new product

  • Responsible for the development and execution of the brand’s operational plan, including business planning activities, budgeting, strategy, and marketing communications

  • Oversees development and implementation of tactical initiatives through subordinate managers and/or employees

  • Constantly works with forward thinking ideas or situations across the business, assessing variables, evaluating fundamental issues, and providing direction for major functional areas

  • Anticipates factors that could impact Neurocrine's strategies and its position in the field. Provides new or innovative solutions and methods to think beyond existing solutions

  • Provides guidance to senior management on all Brand issues and initiatives.

  • Serves as a subject matter expert for the product, market and treatment landscape

  • Fosters strong partnerships with strategic marketing, medical affairs, market access, sales, legal, regulatory and other functions to ensure aligned objectives and implementation of brand strategies

  • Leads team in development and implementation of innovative HCP and patient programs platforms, including personal and non-personal programs and peer-to-peer HCP education

  • Drives creation of US HCP & consumer-facing print and digital materials for field use

  • Understands key market trends and competitive environment to drive proactive strategies to maximize brand potential; Leverages market insights and research to drive growth and strategic direction

  • Serves as marketing representative on promotional review committee for brand. Ensures timely and efficient review of promotional materials and complies fully with all legal, regulatory, ethical and company guidelines.

  • Manages external agencies to ensure successful execution of marketing programs aligned with brand strategic imperatives

  • Manages/controls the brand operating budget.

  • Builds relationships with thought leaders, advocacy groups and local/national organizations as needed to grow industry awareness

  • At all times, ensures compliance with all corporate polices, regulations and laws

  • Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • BS/BA degree in a life science, business or marketing/advertising AND 17+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical / life sciences industry, preferably in marketing and/or advertising as a brand strategist; Experience in commercialization / product launches and building product brand(s) is preferred OR

  • Master's degree or MBA preferred AND 15+ years of similar experience as noted above OR

  • Extensive previous leadership experiences also required

  • Expert level understanding of the brand development process

  • Strong leadership attributes to generate commitment and constructively resolve issues

  • Must be comfortable leading teams in a fast-paced, consensus style environment; must operate cross-functionally in pursuit of business goals

  • Expertise in commercialization of new products, product launches and building premium/aspirational product brand(s)

  • Ability to lead others in both direct managerial and indirect team roles

  • Demonstrated ability in developing and executing plans, consistent messaging and brand guidelines

  • Expertise in developing and executing strategic marketing campaigns

  • Demonstrated ability to drive long-term, enterprise-wide marketing efforts with measurable results

  • Excellent communications skills, creative skills and great instincts to guide brand planning and strategy with flawless execution

  • Acts as a "trusted advisor" across the company and may be recognized as an external expert

  • Provides strategy, vision and direction regarding issues that may have company-wide impact

  • Requires in-depth knowledge of the functional area, business strategies, and the company’s goals

  • Possesses industry-leading knowledge, specifically in support of rare disease brands

  • Strong organizational and project development skills

  • Proven leadership/influencing skills; can influence the highest levels of the organization; shapes business outcomes

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $261,800.00-$357,000.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 35% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
