Purpose of the Role

BGIS is seeking an accomplished Executive Director to oversee the delivery of integrated facility & asset management services across a significant government property portfolio, supporting essential community services and justice facilities in New South Wales.

Reporting to the Director Integration & Business Performance, you will work closely with client executives and a dedicated BGIS Account Team to ensure contractual obligations, financial performance, and service excellence are consistently achieved.

This is a highly visible, client-facing appointment requiring strong commercial judgement, operational leadership and the ability to build trusted client relationships. You’ll lead a substantial team, driving performance, accountability and effective execution while maintaining a clear focus on client outcomes and business results. Your leadership style will be visible and accessible, setting clear expectations, supporting people to perform at their best and creating an environment where issues can be raised early and addressed constructively.

The ideal candidate will be an approachable and collaborative senior professional who brings commercial depth, sound judgement, and a genuine commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee delivery of all contractual obligations, ensuring KPIs are consistently achieved and abatements avoided.
• Take accountability for the contract's financial performance, including budgets, quarterly reforecasts, accruals, and margin outcomes.
• Prepare and present budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting to executive stakeholders and the client.
• Oversee integrated property, facilities, financial, and project management services across the portfolio.
• Nurture trusted relationships with client executives, ensuring open communication and shared understanding of priorities.
• Guide and support a large account team, encouraging professional growth through coaching and mentoring.
• Oversee performance and reporting functions to meet client measurement and governance requirements.
• Manage subcontractor and supplier performance, tendering, and procurement activities.
• Champion safety, compliance, and quality across all aspects of service delivery.
• Identify and implement innovation and continuous improvement initiatives that add value for the client.
• Hold team members accountable to performance standards with care, clarity, and fairness.

Education, Experience & Skills

Essential:

• Significant senior experience within integrated property services, facilities management, or a similarly complex industry.
• Proven experience overseeing medium to large contract teams in a hands-on capacity.
• Strong commercial acumen with high-level financial and business planning capability.
• Demonstrated experience building and sustaining executive-level client relationships with diplomacy and care.
• Sound understanding of technical legislation relating to facilities maintenance management.
• Experience managing subcontractor delivery and performance.
• Experience working within QA, WHS, and environmental systems.
• Comfortable adapting to change and taking an innovative approach to challenges and opportunities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and CMMS platforms.
• Formal tertiary qualifications in Property, Commerce, Business, or a related discipline.

Desirable:

• Experience within government, justice, or public sector portfolios.
• Industry-recognised qualifications in Building or Facilities Management (TAFE, Tertiary, or Property Council).
• Facilities Maintenance Management, Project Management, or Property Management qualifications.
• Training in current WHS, QA, and environmental legislation and systems.
• Experience guiding teams through periods of growth or transformation.

Workplace Flexibility

This position is based on-site at the client's Parramatta office, conveniently located close to public transport, cafés, and local amenities. Following probation, you will enjoy a hybrid arrangement of four days in the office and one day working from home.
