Job Description

ETHIC – Excellence, Teamwork, Hospitality, Integrity, and Compassion – steadfastly characterizes our mission to continually enrich the daily lives of residents. We practice these principles with every task and interaction, from personal caregiver assistance to mowing the grass. At Touchmark, we say:

I AM AN ALLY • I AM A FRIEND • I AM A GIVER

“The secret of good cooking is, first, having a love of it.” – James Beard

Can you relate to the statement above? If you thrive on leading and educating a culinary team but wish you could retain creative freedom, hire and develop your own employees, take advantage of corporate benefits packages, and still be home every evening at a decent hour, we’d like to talk to you about joining Touchmark at Wedgewood as our Executive Chef.
As Executive Chef, you know the impact that a beautifully plated meal made from fresh, local ingredients has on a dining experience. You also know, from experience, what it takes to operate a successful kitchen. Our mission is to enrich people’s lives, and this position will give you the chance to enrich the lives of people every day. In this role, you will have responsibilities such as educating residents and team members about healthy food options; overseeing labor and food costs; building a team dedicated to great food and relationships; developing personal relationships with a community of wonderful people; and ensuring that each member of your team understands all aspects of cooking, food preparation, and presentation.
Above all else, your passion for excellent food and outstanding hospitality will be the “extra” that makes our community stand out above the rest!
The ideal candidate will:
• Have a commitment to Touchmark’s values (excellence, teamwork, hospitality, integrity, and compassion), as well as a desire to model these values and to encourage others to be allies, friends and givers
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Have a certificate or degree in culinary arts or a related field
• Have at least three years’ experience as a food services director, manager, or chef with leadership responsibilities in a similar environment, with demonstrated success in running a profitable kitchen and managing a team of kitchen staff
• Possess a valid food handler’s card, and be willing to obtain First Aid/CPR certification
• Be willing to work occasional weekends and holidays
• Be able to lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds and stay on your feet for long periods of time
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude when dealing with residents, family members, visitors, and team members

Benefits:
Touchmark is dedicated to providing the best for our residents, and it all begins with providing the best for our employees. That’s why we offer a competitive compensation and benefits package to our team members who work 35+ hours per week, which includes:
• Paid sick leave
• Health, Dental, Long-Term Disability and Life insurance for employees and eligible dependents
• Education assistance
• Retirement plan
• Employee Resource Program
Touchmark has over 2,400 team members and is a privately-owned company with a long history of success. Check us out at www.Touchmark.com
