Lt. Governor Dianne Primavera serves as the second highest ranking elected or appointed official in the executive branch of the State of Colorado. The Office of the Lt. Governor works closely with the Office of the Governor to ensure the effective implementation of the Polis-Primavera Administration’s priorities. The Office of the Lt. Governor leads a broad portfolio of programs, including Aerospace and Defense, the Colorado Commission of Indian Affairs, Disability Policy, the Office of eHealth Innovation, the Office of Saving People Money on Health Care, and Serve Colorado.

Position Title: Executive Assistant to the Lt. Governor/ Chief of Staff
FLSA Status: Non- Exempt
Hourly Rate: $28.00 to $30.00/hour
Organizational Relationships: This position reports to the Lt. Governor’s Deputy Chief of Staff and is part of the Lt. Governor’s Office. This position does not have supervisory responsibility.
Expected Annual Travel: None
Summary of Functions: The position has responsibility for providing day-to-day administrative support to the Lt. Governor and the Lt. Governor’s Chief of Staff (COS). Duties include ensuring the Lt. Governor and COS’s daily scheduling requirements are met, providing ongoing clerical support to the Lt. Governor and COS, making travel arrangements, preparing required reports, drafting correspondence, and other duties as required.
Experience: At least 2-4 years of experience in high-level executive support, preferably within a governmental or legislative environment. Appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Further, we are seeking candidates who have many of the following skills and experience:
Technical Proficiency: Mastery of the Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and the ability to quickly learn state-specific legislative tracking software.
Conditions of employment: Must reside in Colorado as of hire date and pass the required background check.
Note: This is an unclassified, at-will position. Due to the upcoming gubernatorial transition, any extension or continuation in this role beyond January 13, 2027, will be at the sole discretion of the next administration.
