The Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) Vertical Lift Division has an exciting opportunity for an Executive Assistant (Chief of Staff) position located in Mesa, Arizona!

This is a rewarding and challenging leadership role that reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Vertical Lift and has direct interface with all the internal program leadership as well as multiple US and international customers. We are seeking dynamic candidates who are enthusiastic about the unique opportunities and diverse experiences this role offers, including broad visibility and exposure to all stages of the program life cycle.

The BDS Vertical Lift Division portfolio is critical to defense around the world and is responsible for manufacturing the most advanced military rotorcraft in the world and is renowned for leading-edge solutions that deliver proven capabilities. With 60 years of expertise and a global fleet over 2,500 strong — comprising the AH-6 Little Bird, AH-64 Apache, V-22 Osprey and H-47 Chinook aircraft and in-development entrants, including the MH-139A Grey Wolf — Boeing advances missions ranging from precision attack and reconnaissance to medium and heavy lift operations.

Successful candidates act as a strategic integrator and operational leader, enabling the SVP to focus on vision and leadership by managing complexity, driving execution, fostering alignment across the organization, and ensuring execution excellence.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Directly support the Senior Vice President of Vertical Lift and act as a trusted liaison between the SVP, senior leadership, and other stakeholders; Collaborate closely with the SVP to understand priorities, goals, challenges and assist in setting strategic direction and aligning initiatives with organizational objectives.
  • Recognized as primary project contact to establish key stakeholder requirements and project objectives to ensure alignment of program efforts and deliverables; Prepare high level briefings for internal and external customer; Proactively identify potential challenges and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Lead and integrate program leadership team operations deliverables to include: Operating Rhythm, Org Optimization, Metrics, and Lean.
  • Ensure assigned individuals are executing the identified and assigned tasks and providing appropriate tracking and reporting per plan; Develops and executes the process and strategy for the integration of plans and schedules
  • Develops and executes integrated organizational plans, policies and procedures and guides the development of business and technical strategies, goals, objectives
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports; Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist Senior Vice President in achieving the business objectives including: organizing the team, driving required change and initiatives, and program execution
  • Provide interface with Vertical Lift to help set priorities, facilitate information flow and help with alignment of the organizations and their business objectives
  • Review and evaluate strategic organizational focus and priorities, identify and recommend optimization opportunities and assist in the implementation of recommendations
  • Define and execute the operating rhythm and facilitate meetings according to the operating rhythm while closely coordinating with other organizations and Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS)
  • Lead the design, logistics and facilitation of large meetings/events; develop and consolidate executive level briefings; monitor and track actions, project and initiative execution and communicate status
  • Prepare for and coordinate key internal leadership meetings as well as visits with external high-level customers, and local, state and national legislative visitors
  • Facilitate communications and actions between senior leadership staff and Boeing program leadership and organizations; ensure organizational alignment with processes and compliance requirements; provides guidance to and solicit feedback from program staff for consolidated reporting to Vertical Lift, BDS and Boeing Corporate
  • Support the Vice President and Leadership Team execution, communication and customer engagement
  • Provide proactive coordination across the leadership teams, provide strategic project management and support operational efficiency for the organization

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):

  • Program Management, project management and/or Business Operations experience

  • 3 or more years of experience leading multiple projects and working with cross-functional teams

  • 3 or more years of experience demonstrated strong collaboration and leadership strengths in written and verbal communications

  • 3 or more years of experience delivering on prioritized commitments and partnering closely to ensure consistent attention to details with rigorous follow through

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):

  • 1 or more years of experience in management

  • 3 or more years of experience working with executive leadership

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Absolute trust and maintenance of confidentiality are essential

  • Experience integrating and communicating across all levels in an organization

  • Professional experience in a leadership role (formal or informal)

  • Exceptional organizational skills

  • Demonstrated professional demeanor and initiative (self-starter)

  • Active Secret clearance is preferred
