As we continue this journey, we're creating three Executive Assistant opportunities to partner directly with members of our Executive Leadership Team.

These are high-impact roles for experienced Executive Assistants who thrive in complex, fast-moving environments and want to play a meaningful part in shaping the future of an organisation serving millions of customers.

Working at the heart of Executive decision-making, governance and business delivery, you'll help senior leaders navigate competing priorities, anticipate challenges and drive outcomes that matter.

You'll bring clarity to complexity, create the conditions for Executive success and ensure our leaders can focus on delivering transformational change.

Because today's Executive Assistants do more than manage schedules.

They shape priorities. Enable decisions. Drive change.

The Impact You'll Have

As a trusted partner to an Executive Leader, you'll:

  • Align Executive priorities with strategic, operational and customer commitments.
  • Drive effective governance across Board, Executive and leadership forums.
  • Prepare high-quality briefings, papers and decision-ready insights.
  • Anticipate risks and resolve challenges before they impact delivery.
  • Build influential relationships across the business and with key external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate critical initiatives and maintain momentum against organisational priorities.
  • Leverage technology, automation and AI to improve efficiency and enhance ways of working.
  • Support leaders through a period of significant investment, transformation and growth.

This is a role where judgement, influence and commercial awareness are just as important as exceptional organisation.

Why This Role? Why Now?

Opportunities like this don't come along often.

You'll work alongside some of Southern Water's most senior leaders, gaining exposure to Board-level decision-making, major investment programmes, regulatory challenges and business transformation at scale.

You'll join a forward-looking Executive community that values innovation, professionalism and continuous improvement, helping redefine what exceptional Executive Assistance looks like in a modern organisation.

If you're looking for a role where you can contribute, influence and make a real impact, this is your opportunity.

Who We're Looking For

We're interested in experienced Executive Assistants who have operated at Executive, C-Suite or Board level within large, complex organisations. You'll bring:

  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience supporting senior leaders through complex business challenges.
  • Strong governance knowledge, including Board and Executive forums.
  • Outstanding judgement, discretion and professionalism.
  • The ability to work proactively, independently and at pace.
  • Experience using technology and AI to improve productivity and effectiveness.
  • A strategic mindset with a focus on outcomes, not just activity.

Most importantly, you'll understand how to create value far beyond administration by enabling leaders and organisations to perform at their best.

Help shape what comes next.

Southern Water

About Southern Water

We are one of the largest water and wastewater companies in the South East of England and thrive on the passion and hard work of more than 2,000 employees.

Together we supply 532 million litres of drinking water every day to more than two million customers and treat and recycle 717 million litres of wastewater for more than four million customers in Kent, Sussex, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

Water is essential to every aspect of our lives and we're proud to be at the heart of managing water and wastewater services. We drink it, cook with it and use it to clean. Our water supply faces big challenges - the population of the South East is growing fast, and climate change is bringing greater risk of droughts and more extreme weather. It’s a future of more people needing water and wastewater services, with less water to go around.

So, together with our customers and communities, we aim to provide a sustainable, high-quality water and wastewater service that helps us create a resilient future for water in the South East.
