Execution Trader - Night Desk Officer (5pm to 1am)

General Description

- Member of the Execution (Asia) - Night Desk team, reporting to the Head Execution (Asia) - Night Desk.
- Responsible for active risk management and adherence to all regulatory and internal compliance requirements.
- Ensures fast and accurate execution of trade orders, minimizing operational losses.
- Provides high-quality service to Execution (Asia) - Night Desk clients and Direct Access Clients (DACs), offering market insights as needed.
- Builds effective relationships across the Bank to maintain and improve knowledge of business, products, and services, optimizing client service.
- Works after Asian office hours (night desk), specifically during US market trading sessions, including night shifts and public holidays.

People Management

- Motivate and provide guidance/feedback to team members to enhance overall performance.

Client Management (Internal & External)
- Execute trade orders quickly and precisely, maintaining minimal error rates.
- Execute client orders for equities and fixed income products in European and US markets during the night shift.
- Maintain close working relationships with counterparties.
- Deliver high-quality service to Execution (Asia) - Night Desk clients and DACs.
- Respond to general client inquiries regarding the global macroeconomy and financial markets.
- Consult regularly with Front representatives to stay updated on client needs and take appropriate actions to fulfill them.

Business Management
- Work towards achieving the team’s ambitions as defined by the Head Execution (Asia) - Night Desk.
- Maintain and update client information for Execution (Asia) - Night Desk.
- Keep accurate records of all executed trades and provide regular reports to management.
- Regularly review functional practices to ensure optimal efficiency and productivity.

Compliance & Risk Management
- Meet all legal, regulatory, and compliance standards/requirements.
- Adhere to all relevant Local User Manuals.
- Perform necessary suitability and regulatory checks/disclosures before trade execution.
- Ensure all approvals are obtained for new counterparties before trading commences.
- Regularly assess practices to mitigate risks associated with the function.
- Demonstrate appropriate values and behaviors, including honesty, integrity, due care, diligence, fair dealing, conflict management, competence, continuous development, risk management, and compliance with laws and regulations.

Professional and Technical
- Relevant higher education and professional background with 5-10 years of related experience.
- Proficiency in trading systems, tools, Microsoft Excel, and other relevant software.
- Strong knowledge of equities, structured products, fixed income products, trading platforms, and execution strategies.
- Good understanding of financial products across all asset classes.
- Proficient in using electronic pricing tools and dealing systems.
- Represents the Bank’s and shareholders’ interests at all times.
- Strong commercial judgment, business acumen, and broad understanding of financial markets and products.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Regulatory
- MAS licensed representative.
- CACS 1, CACS 2.
- RES 1B, 2B, and CM-SIP.
- Familiarity with regulatory expectations and requirements.
- Understanding of cross-border rules and regulations.
