Our Arrow Project Services team is looking for experienced Excavator Operators for a project in Kamloops, BC.

Under the direction of the Civil Construction Supervisor, the Excavator Operator will perform heavy civil works such as mass excavations, sewer and water installation, retaining wall excavation and back fill. The Operator will work in tight work areas and in close proximity of other workers, underground utilities, overhead power lines and the general public.

Responsibilities

  • Operate excavators varying from 20T to 40T sizes
  • Operate and control the equipment safely in changing ground conditions
  • Perform road work, excavation work, lifting work, and have knowledge of rigging
  • Respond to signals and directions by the staff and work in coordination with them
  • Working with both buckets and excavation attachments
  • Work in adherence to all safe work practices, procedures, as well as all regulatory requirements
  • Perform daily equipment maintenance and requesting required services
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager

You Possess

  • Experience working in heavy civil construction
  • Minimum 5 years of excavator experience including mass excavation, sewer and water installation, retaining wall excavation and backfill
  • Knowledge of quick change attachments, working with both buckets and excavation attachments
  • Mechanical inclination of equipment maintenance (mechanic, welder, machinist) is an asset but not required
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions (snow, rain, sub-freezing temps, heat, wind)
  • Experience with routine maintenance operations
  • Good physical condition (Able to carry at least 50 lbs)
  • Reliable transportation to and from facility locations
  • Strong safety mindset
  • Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
  • Quality oriented and strong attention to detail
  • Needs to be responsible, accountable and dependable
  • Demonstrates strong communication
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
  • Exceptionally high level of hand-eye coordination.
  • Experience working with computers is an asset
