Position SummaryThe role of the EVS Tech I reports to the EVS Manager. This position is responsible for the daily cleaning of patient and non-patient areas. This position will have frequent interaction with staff, visitors, and patients.
Essential Position Responsibilities
- Comply with proper handling and use of EVS chemicals and equipment
- Ensure EVS supply cart is filled with necessary materials at the beginning and end of shift
- Learn Teletracking software and use approved electronic devices
- Collecting and properly disposing of trash and waste material
- Replenish disposable items such as soap, paper towel, and toilet paper
- Clean and disinfects equipment and furniture
- Clean up spills
- Dust high areas
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment as needed
- Provide positive interactions with patients, visitors, and staff

- Education: High school diploma or GED, preferred.

Experience: Previous housekeeping experience in a hospital setting, preferred.

Work Environment: This position will spend 90% of the time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying up to 50 lbs. This position will spend 10% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment. This position must have the ability to read, write, and speak the English language. This position will be exposed to industrial strength cleaning chemicals, body fluids, and communicable diseases.
