The Environmental Services Floor Technician is responsible for maintaining a high level of cleanliness within the hospital and adjacent buildings, which may require traveling from one facility to another without assistance. Complete assigned projects (Stripping/ waxing / refinishing of hard surface Flooring, Carpet Extracting / Bonnet Buffing, Restorative scrub Ceramic tile). Work Indiviually and also in a team environment, complete other tasks as assigned. Respond to and initiate communication by phone, handheld radios, pagers etc.

Under the general supervision of the EVS Manager/Supervisor, duties include but are not limited to: Floor Scrubbing/stripping, refinishing, carpet shampooing, carpet extraction, cleaning floor corners/edges/baseboards, removing trash, floor buffing, floor burnishing, elevator track cleaning, other floor and carpet maintenance, Upholstery cleaning, conference room set ups, stairwell cleaning, in all assigned areas of the hospital using standard cleaning procedures and chemicals. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1. One (1) year of knowledge within acute care hospital environmental service techniques, practices and procedures required. Preferred two years of Floor Tech experience in a healthcare setting.2. High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.3. Must be able to read, understand and communicate effectively.4. Ability to understand written and verbal instructions.5. Apply common sense understanding to follow instructions that were provided.6. Must be able to communicate and understand English
