About the Team & Business Line

Fund Administration is Citco’s core business, and our alternative asset and accounting service is one of the industry’s most respected. Our continuous investment in learning and technology solutions means our people are equipped to deliver a seamless client experience.

Strategic Operations is a dedicated function within Private Assets, created to take the development and delivery burden off Operations and to close the gap between project design and operational adoption — by making both the responsibility of the same people. The team owns transformation delivery, project execution, business analysis, operational initiatives and implementation support, rather than relying on already stretched BAU teams and SMEs.

The team is organised into three delivery pods across two remits. EVP 1 — Operating Model & Product covers Pod A (Operating Model, Product & Client Solutions). EVP 2 — Technology, Data & Delivery covers Pod B (Data, Reporting & Platform Enablement) and Pod C (Digital Workflow, Automation & AI). Business analysis and implementation capability is embedded in every pod rather than centralised, with EVP 2 owning the standards for requirements, testing, cutover and benefits tracking.

This role leads EVP 1 — Operating Model & Product, with accountability for Pod A (Operating Model, Product & Client Solutions).

The group works in close partnership with Operations, the Transformation Office, IT, Tactical Operations and our Marquee Client teams. Roles are offered on both a permanent basis and as approximately 12-month rotational assignments, and are anchored in our strategic locations. Rotational colleagues join from the business, shape the change, and return to the line owning the delivery with broader project experience behind them.

Your Role

You will own how our service should run and what we commit to clients, with accountability for the design and adoption of the Private Assets operating model.

  • Set the direction for the Private Assets operating model — defining how services should run end to end, and building the case for change with senior stakeholders.
  • Lead Pod A, setting priorities and balancing long-term operating model work against near-term business need, and against client-driven demand.
  • Act as the senior Operations voice in client pitches, POCs and strategic direction setting, ensuring what we sell is something we can genuinely run.
  • Own the marquee solution reuse agenda — identifying where a solution built for one client can be applied across the wider book, and driving that rollout.
  • Partner at senior level with Operations, Tactical Operations, Marquee Client teams, the Transformation Office and IT to align change activity and remove duplication.
  • Govern the pod portfolio: prioritisation, resourcing, budget, risk, dependencies and executive reporting.
  • Establish plans for new client setup, transitions and complex implementations, coordinating across Operations, Financial Statements, Tax and Investor Relations.
  • Build and develop the pods — including the rotational model — and actively participate in recruitment.
  • Maintain alignment with Tactical Operations and Marquee Operations, routing work to the right group and handing back anything better delivered tactically.
  • Represent Strategic Operations at Private Assets and CFS leadership forums.

About You

You have 12–15 years’ experience in fund administration, alternative asset management or a related financial services environment, predominantly in private assets.

  • A demonstrable record of delivering large-scale operating model or product re-engineering initiatives, with change that was genuinely adopted by the business.
  • Deep knowledge of private assets operating models, fund structures and the end-to-end service model.
  • Strong executive stakeholder management, with credibility in front of clients and senior leadership.
  • Commercial judgement — able to assess what we can genuinely deliver and price, and to hold that line in a client conversation.
  • Portfolio and programme governance experience, with proven ability to manage competing priorities across multiple pods.
  • Strong leadership skills and supervisory experience of other professionals, including rotational colleagues joining from the business.
  • Skilled in business planning, budgeting and stakeholder negotiation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field; professional accounting designation a plus.

What We Expect of the Strategic Operations Team

Regardless of level or pod, everyone in Strategic Operations is expected to demonstrate the following:

  • Deep technical and operational knowledge — genuine depth in how our processes, data and platforms actually work — the detail that only comes from having run the work.
  • Curiosity — the instinct to ask why a process looks the way it does, to challenge the answer, and to keep asking whether there is a better way.
  • A transformational mindset — comfortable redesigning end to end rather than patching, and prepared to see change through past go-live to the point where it is genuinely adopted.
  • Ownership through to adoption — accountability does not end at delivery; success is measured by whether the change sticks in the business.
  • Commercial and client awareness — an understanding of what we can genuinely run, so that what we commit to a client is deliverable.
  • Global mindset — working across regions, jurisdictions and time zones, and designing solutions that scale beyond a single desk, client or location.
  • Ambition to shape Citco’s future — an appetite to help build the operating model we will run for years, and to be measured on whether it works.
