About the Role:
The Chief Operating Officer, Operations Excellence leads FinPac’s end-to-end operations platform, championing efficient, scalable, and well-controlled execution throughout Portfolio Services and Operations. This executive oversees service delivery, process performance, and continuous improvement, fostering a culture of quality and operational discipline across the customer and portfolio lifecycle. Collaborating with teams in Credit, Finance, Risk, Compliance, Technology, and Business Development, they drive initiatives that increase capacity and throughput, reduce operational costs, and elevate customer outcomes—all while maintaining rigorous controls and expense discipline. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to streamlining workflows, minimizing inefficiencies and manual tasks, and ensuring consistent, high-quality service delivery through disciplined process design and execution.
Lead Portfolio Services and Operations with accountability for service delivery, operating performance, quality, and control effectiveness.
Develop and implement an operating model that improves scalability, consistency, and cross-functional execution across key workflows.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives that reduce cycle time, rework, manual touchpoints, and process variation.
Establish performance metrics, dashboards, and governance routines to monitor capacity, throughput, productivity, service levels, and quality.
Partner with Risk, Compliance, Audit, Finance, and Technology to maintain a strong control environment and support regulatory and policy adherence.
Lead automation and workflow redesign efforts that improve efficiency and support long-term operating leverage.
Build and lead a high-performing team through clear expectations, talent development, succession planning, and accountability.
Provide executive reporting and recommendations regarding operating performance, risk, and strategic improvement opportunities.
Demonstrates compliance with all company regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities – knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes.
Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training.
Maintain a working knowledge of the company’s written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description.
May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.

About You:
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, operations, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required
Master's degree in business, finance, operations, or a related field preferred
10+ years of senior leadership experience in banking, equipment finance, leasing, commercial finance, or another regulated financial services environment required
10+ years of demonstrated success leading complex operations or portfolio administration functions with measurable results in efficiency, quality, and service delivery required
10+ years of strong knowledge of risk management, compliance, control disciplines, and cross-functional operating governance required
10+ years of experience in equipment finance, vendor finance, or portfolio servicing operations required
10+ years of experience implementing process improvement, workflow redesign, operating metrics, and change management initiatives preferred
Ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership and influence decisions across a matrixed organization
Background leading automation, digitization, or operational excellence programs at scale
Six Sigma preferred
Periodic travel may be required to support business operations, leadership meetings, training, and other bank or subsidiary activities.
Open to locations within the Columbia Bank footprint.
The pay range for this role is $185,000 - $260,000.
The pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, and those details will be provided during the recruitment process.
