Role Objectives:

Lead the establishment and scale-up of the Bengaluru GCM Evidence Generation function, overseeing the build-out and day-to-day delivery of evidence strategy, planning, and operations enablement, and quality and compliance capabilities, serving as the senior GCM accountability point for the Global Evidence Generation leadership team.

In the initial build phase, directly manage a cross-functional set of the first Evidence Generation GCM roles spanning quality control, data governance, repository maintenance, and statistical analysis support, ensuring compliance, capability continuity, and operational readiness are established before the broader organizational structure is fully in place.

As the GCM Evidence Generation function matures and direct report lines stabilize, the focus of the role will transition to leading and managing a team that is focused on Strategy and Ops Enablement across GMA Therapeutic Areas and functions.

Key Responsibilities

Initial Capability Build: Evidence & Governance Records Maintenance, Quality, & Statistical Analysis

  • In the initial build phase, directly oversee the design and establishment of evidence record management, governance records management, quality and compliance, and statistical analysis processes within the GCM, in close coordination with Global Evidence Generation before full GCM transition​

  • Provide active direction, coaching, and quality oversight to Strategy & Operations Leads, Quality and Compliance Leads, Data Governance & Systems Leads, and Statistical Analysis Leads as they establish GCM processes, standards, and tooling from the ground up ​

  • Support in hiring processes of other GCM Strategy & Planning team members including Senior Managers and Managers​

  • Facilitate reporting line transfers to the Evidence Generation Study Execution & Data Group Lead once that structure is operational, ensuring continuity of process ownership and no loss of compliance or delivery quality during the transition​

  • Act as the senior quality reviewer of evidence & governance record centralization, quality, and statistical analysis activities during the initial build phase, before team capacity is fully established​

  • Identify and resolve early-stage process gaps, ambiguities in scope boundaries between GCM and Global Evidence Generation, and repository readiness issues before they affect downstream evidence governance​

Evidence Strategy & Planning Operations Oversight

  • Oversee the end-to-end establishment, quality and consistency of all GCM evidence strategy and planning outputs across the team's full scope once at steady state, including IEP maintenance, evidence record management, reuse assessments, PRO/COA benchmarking, HA & Payer launch and scenario planning support​

  • Oversee the end-to-end establishment, quality and consistency of all GCM operations enablement outputs across the team's full scope once at steady state including financial operations, study operations, and quality control and maintenance​

  • Review team outputs before distribution to Global Evidence Generation stakeholders; resolve operational and process issues within the team and escalate scientific, strategic, or compliance questions to the US organization as appropriate​

  • Monitor workload distribution across concurrent IEPs, reuse requests, benchmarking needs, and planning workstreams; adjust prioritization and capacity allocation as portfolio demands shift​

Team Management

  • Manage daily workflow, capacity planning, and prioritization across the Strategy & Planning Group Lead (SM), Operations Enablement Group Lead (SM), and all directly reporting initial build Managers​

  • Build team capability through coaching, onboarding, structured training, and performance feedback; identify skill gaps and support individual development as the team scales from initial build to full steady-state capacity ​

  • Ensure clear role delineation and effective handoffs​

  • Manage projects, budgets, and staffing plans effectively, ensuring alignment with delivery commitments and performance standards agreed with the US organization​

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Serve as the primary senior GCM point of contact for the Head of Evidence Generation and Global Evidence Generation leadership team on all strategy, planning, and operations enablement, quality, compliance, governance, and statistics support activities delivered from Bengaluru​

  • Participate in regular cadence meetings with Global Evidence Generation Leaders to optimize processes and escalate complex scientific, strategic, or compliance questions to the appropriate US leaders per defined escalation protocols​

Qualifications

Experience: >8 years of related work experience; >6 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry; >4 years of experience in evidence generation, HEOR, clinical operations, or a related medical or scientific function; demonstrated experience managing teams or senior individual contributors, including in a build or transformation context; experience working within or standing up a GCM or shared services environment strongly preferred​.

Technical skills:

  • Broad working knowledge across evidence generation, pharmaceutical industry and Medical Affairs ​

  • Experience overseeing or managing evidence record governance, repository management, QC execution, and compliance documentation processes in a regulated pharmaceutical environment​

  • Ability to set up and sustain operational frameworks and procedures​

  • Ability to distribute workload across teams and identify and resolve process gaps or risks​

  • Experience leading teams through organizational build, transition, or transformation periods ​

Education: A scientific, medical, life sciences, or health economics degree is required; advanced degree (Masters or PhD) is a plus​

Languages: Fluent English required; additional languages advantageous​​
