Position 

Summary
The Events Supervisor plays a vital operational role in successfully executing all club-hosted and private events at Larchmont Yacht Club. Reporting to the Director of Catering and Events and the Food & Beverage Manager, this individual serves as the primary on-site liaison for clients and internal departments during events and is responsible for leading the event staff to ensure exceptional guest experiences from setup through breakdown.
This hands-on position calls for strong leadership, operational expertise, and a true passion for hospitality. The role requires schedule flexibility, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the setup, execution, and breakdown of all private events and Club functions,
ensuring alignment with LYC’s service standards and brand.
- Act as the lead point-of-contact during events for both members and private clients, ensuring all event details are executed as planned.
- Coordinate with the culinary team, beverage service, housekeeping, and other departments to ensure seamless and timely service.
- Prepare and manage event-specific materials including floorplans, BEOs, timelines, pull sheets, and staff assignments.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of LYC event spaces, equipment, and inventory to ensure proper usage, storage, and replenishment.
- Train, schedule, and supervise event staff to support both small and large-scale functions.
- Monitor event operations for quality, service, and compliance with safety and health regulations.
- Respond swiftly and professionally to any issues or guest concerns that arise before, during, or after events.

Qualifications
Candidate Profile

Qualifications:
- Previous experience in event operations, catering management, or food and beverage supervision is required, preferably within a private club, fine dining restaurant, or other upscale hospitality environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead service teams in a fast-paced, high-touch environment.
- Proficient in POS systems (Club Essential) and inventory management software.
- Familiarity with banquet event orders (BEOs), floorplans, and service protocols.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and remain on feet for extended periods (up to 10 hours).
- Must be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors, often in variable temperatures.
- Must be able to bend, crouch, climb stairs, and perform physical event setup and breakdown tasks.
Schedule & Compensation
- Hourly

 union position with overtime eligibility.
- Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays based on event needs.
- Limited PTO availability during the Club’s peak seasons and holidays.
- Full-time schedule based on business needs including nights, weekends, and holidays.
