About the team

The Public Relations, Events & Community Department protects and enhances the reputation of our brands through strategic communications, media engagement, events, experiential marketing and community partnerships.

The team leads corporate and consumer communications, brand storytelling, reputation management, supplier activations and charitable initiatives to build customer trust and support business growth. This role sits within the Public Relations and Events team, delivering external events and PR initiatives across the broader business.

About the role

Reporting int o the Group PR Manager, the Events Specialist– Franchise Brands is responsible for the planning, coordination and delivery of all external & internal Franchise Brand events for Amcal and Discount Drug Stores, while also providing high-level administration and operational support to the Franchise Brands Leadership Team. The role is accountable for ensuring Franchise Brand events are delivered to an exceptional standard, strengthening franchise partner engagement, supporting strategic business outcomes and enhancing the Amcal and DDS brands. The role works collaboratively across Retail, Commercial, Legal, Property, Finance, Marketing and external stakeholders to ensure the smooth operation of the Franchise Brands business.

Role responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of all Franchise Brand events nationally.
  • Develop and maintain the annual Franchise Brand events calendar.
  • Deliver premium events that strengthen franchise partner engagement and reinforce the Amcal and DDS brands.
  • Coordinate all event logistics including venues, accommodation, travel, catering, production, registrations and
  • communications.
  • Develop event budgets and manage expenditure within approved limits.
  • Manage supplier contracts and negotiate value for Sigma Healthcare.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist as required with Public Relations and Event team supplier funded events, activations and store openings

Who are we looking for?

We’re seeking someone who is passionate about events, thrives in a fast-paced environment and can confidently manage projects from planning through to delivery. You’ll ideally have:

  • 2–3 years’ experience in events, business administration or a related field.
  • Experience in corporate event planning and coordination, preferably within the healthcare industry.
  • Strong project management, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience supporting change management or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to manage confidential information.
  • Experience coordinating legal or commercial documentation is highly desirable.
