About the Opportunity

As an Events Manager, you’ll be the mastermind behind unforgettable meetings and events, juggling clients, suppliers, budgets, and logistics with confidence, creativity, and just the right amount of flair. We are looking for an ambitious and creative specialist, a relationship builder who is ready to make a real impact in a highly visible role and thrive in a fast and dynamic environment.

What You Will Do

  • Build strong, lasting relationships with clients—and be their go-to problem solver
  • Work closely with clients to research and recommend venues that tick all the boxes
  • Prepare and manage budgets, keeping clients informed every step of the way (no surprises here)
  • Coordinate with Group Travel Consultants to manage group air travel and ensure accurate manifests
  • Bring programs to life by managing every detail—room setups, décor, entertainment, AV, menus, transportation, DMC operations, and offsite experiences
  • Negotiate supplier contracts like a champion to deliver outstanding value while hitting revenue targets
  • Keep budgets up to date throughout planning and delivery, including final reconciliation
  • Own program data and registration management, ensuring accuracy and integrity
  • Provide onsite support—advance functions, attend pre-cons, manage VIP needs, and keep things running seamlessly
  • Stay ahead of trends with fresh destinations, seasonal deals, and “hot date” opportunities

Who We're Looking For

  • 5–8+ years’ experience managing corporate MICE groups end-to-end
  • A relationship builder who connects authentically
  • A well-connected negotiator across DMCs, hoteliers, transport providers, and key vendors
  • Well-travelled with strong market and product knowledge
  • Self motivated, independent, highly-organised and hungry to grow
  • TMC experience? Great! (But if not, no worries — we can teach that!)

Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG) is one of the world’s largest travel companies, employing 15,000 like-minded individuals – known as ‘Flighties’.

Our story dates to 1973, when founder Graham Turner (aka “Skroo") and friend Geoff “Spy” Lomas buy a double-decker bus and take off on their first tour around Spain, Portugal and Morrocco, 3 years later forming the first business, Top Deck.
