The opportunity
We’relooking for an experienced and creative Events Managerto join our Marketing and Communications team on a permanent basis, based in London with a hybrid working model.
This is ahigh‑profilerole responsible for delivering a dynamic and impactful programme of customer, broker, employee and industry events across the UK and Europe.You’llwork closely with senior leadersto design and deliver events that support commercial objectives, strengthenrelationshipsand elevate the QBE brand.
From flagship industry conferences and premium corporate hospitality to executive dinners and engagement events, this role offers genuine variety,visibilityand the opportunity to make a real impact.
Your new role
As Events Manager,you’lllead the planning and delivery of QBE’s flagship customer, broker, employee and industry events across the UK and Europe. Working closely with senior leaders, you’llturn business objectives into high- impact experiences that strengthen relationships and elevate the QBE brand.
You’llown the European events calendarend‑to‑end, balancing strategy,creativityand flawlessexecution. This is a highly visible role within the Marketing team, offering real influence and variety.
Main responsibilities
Own and deliver QBE’s annual programme of customer, broker, employee and industry events across the UK and Europe.
Leadend‑to‑endevent delivery, from strategy and concept through toon‑siteexecution.
Deliver flagship conferences, executiveeventsand premium corporate hospitality experiences.
Manage exhibition presence at major industry events, including stand design, build andon‑sitedelivery.
Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders on event strategy,planningand delivery.
Manage event budgets,suppliersand contracts to ensurecost‑effective,high‑qualitydelivery.
Lead and develop a small,high‑performingevents team (two direct reports).
Ensure all events align with brand guidelines,policiesand codes of conduct.
Measure and report on event impact, using insights to continuously evolve the events programme.
About You
You’rea commercially minded events professional who understands howgreat eventsdrive relationships,reputationand business outcomes. Confident working with senior leaders, you bring a strategic lens to event planning whilemaintainingexceptional attention to detail.
You thrive in afast‑paced,high‑visibilityenvironment and enjoy taking full ownership from concept to delivery.You’reflexible,collaborativeand energised by delivering standout experiences.
Skills and experienceyou’llbring
Experience deliveringhigh‑impactcorporate, client or industry events, ideally withinfinancial,professionalor business services.
Goodstrategic understanding of how events support brand,engagementand commercialobjectives
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience working closely with senior executives.
People management experience, with the ability to lead and develop a small team.
Strong brand awareness and confidence working within brand guidelines.
Outstanding attention to detail,planningand organisational skills.
Experience managing budgets, suppliers,agenciesand sponsorship agreements.
Flexibility to support events that may involve occasional late evenings or travel.
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work closely withbusiness stakeholders and marketing colleagues.
