Events and Marketing Intern

Location: Cape Town, South Africa based, working remotely with the UK team

About the Role

We’re looking for a creative and organised Events and Marketing Intern to support the promotion of events, workshops and experiences across Leonardslee LTD in Horsham, West Sussex, UK.

This is a varied opportunity for someone interested in developing their skills in both marketing and events. Working closely with the Events and Marketing teams, you’ll help create content, support campaigns and assist with the administration of workshops.

You’ll receive guidance, feedback and training as you learn, with opportunities to take on more responsibility and develop your confidence over time.

What You’ll Be Doing

Marketing

• Assist with website updates, including building and maintaining event pages.
• Help plan and create engaging social media content for events and workshops.
• Assist with writing copy for newsletters, blogs, website pages, listing sites and other promotional materials.
• Support the marketing team with preparing and scheduling emails and social media content.
• Help prepare briefs for the Design team and share feedback on event marketing materials.
• Work with the wider team to keep campaign content and materials organised and consistent.

Events

• Assist the Events Manager with planning, logistics and coordination for workshops and experiences.
• Liaise with internal teams, facilitators and suppliers to ensure smooth event delivery.
• Help keep track of workshop deadlines, booking cut-offs and upcoming actions.
• Support ticketing processes, guest lists and on-the-day requirements.
• Collect feedback and contribute to post-event reporting and analysis.

Research, Reporting and Administration

• Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activity and new opportunities.
• Maintain databases, shared folders and marketing materials so information is current and organised.
• Monitor analytics for campaigns and events, preparing simple reports where required.
• Handle general administrative and ad hoc tasks to support both departments.

What We’re Looking For

You don’t need to know how to do everything on this list already. We’re looking for someone who is keen to learn and has:

• An interest in marketing, events, hospitality or visitor attractions.
• Good written communication skills and an interest in creating content.
• Strong organisation and attention to detail.
• A proactive approach and the confidence to ask questions when needed.
• The ability to manage tasks, follow guidance and keep others updated.
• A willingness to learn, take on feedback and develop new skills.
• Confidence using everyday digital tools, shared documents and spreadsheets.

Nice to have: familiarity with social media, Canva, email marketing tools or website content management systems would be helpful, but isn’t essential.
