Fair & Westside Commons
Non-Exempt
The Event Services Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and operating a wide variety of meetings, conferences, trade shows, consumer events, and public events held at Westside Commons. Following contract execution, this position serves as the primary client liaison, guiding clients through the planning process while coordinating event logistics with service providers and internal teams to ensure each event is delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with contractual commitments.
This role requires substantial knowledge of venue operations, including event setup and teardown, facility preparation, compliance with building and fire code standards, coordination with operations and maintenance teams, and real-time problem-solving during events. While the position includes planning, client communication, and administrative responsibilities, it also requires significant on-site, hands-on work to ensure the facility is properly managed before, during, and after events.
The Event Services team works collaboratively with Business Development, Operations, Facilities, and external providers of Food & Beverage, Audio Visual, Janitorial, and public safety partners to deliver high-quality event experiences while supporting the mission of Westside Commons and Washington County.
This position does not follow a traditional Monday - Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM work schedule. Hours are determined by the event calendar and regularly include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Candidates should expect a highly visible, active role that spends substantial time throughout the venue, often in event spaces and operational areas, rather than primarily in an office setting.
