Job Description

The Events Services Assistant performs a variety of event and conference support services. Duties include staging conference rooms, restocking common areas, and event logistics support including load-in and load out.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain conference rooms within IDA’s Potomac Yard facility to include ensuring the proper number of tables and chairs, adequate supplies and resources.
  • Prepare conference facilities for meetings to include room set-up and delivery of coffee and/or luncheons.
  • Support onsite caterer with food drop-off and pick-ups, in addition to setting up food tables and linen.
  • Provide VIPs transportation to locations within the DC Metro area. Driver should travel via the most efficient routes and comply with road regulations at all times.
  • Use the electronic conference scheduling system to obtain schedules and room set-up requirements.
  • Collaborate with Facilities Services and Conference Technical Support to ensure conference room furniture and equipment are in proper working condition.
  • Restock coffee, tea and beverages in all common areas, galleys, and office spaces.
  • Work various shifts as events require.
  • Escort uncleared personnel and contractors as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be proficient in using industry standard computer equipment and software specific to duties to include Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to manage multiple clients and projects
  • Ability to follow directions and complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner
  • Strong written and oral communication skills to complete various administrative task
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel
  • Ability to lift 45 pounds
  • Must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license and be subject to annual MVR screening.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain necessary security clearance

Compensation

We support transparency, equity, and fairness in our compensation program and provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range based on data-driven market analysis for each position. While it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range, a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $38,447 - $61,515. Individual salary within this range will be commensurate with the incumbent’s experience, unique skills and qualifications, and other relevant factors.
