Unarmed Event Security Officer

Job Summary

We are seeking dependable and professional Unarmed Event Security Officers to provide a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for guests, employees, vendors, and event participants. Officers will be responsible for maintaining a visible security presence, monitoring event areas, controlling access points, assisting with crowd management, and responding appropriately to security and safety concerns. The ideal candidate is alert, professional, reliable, customer-service oriented, and able to remain calm and focused in busy event environments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional and highly visible security presence throughout assigned event areas
• Monitor entrances, exits, restricted areas, parking areas, and other designated locations
• Check credentials, tickets, passes, or identification as directed by the client or event management
• Prevent unauthorized access to restricted or secured areas
• Assist with crowd control and maintain orderly movement of guests and attendees
• Monitor guests and event activities for suspicious behavior, safety concerns, or policy violations
• Respond promptly and professionally to disturbances, emergencies, and security-related incidents
• Report suspicious activity, safety hazards, medical emergencies, and other incidents to supervisors or Dispatch
• Assist with evacuation procedures and emergency response when required
• Provide directions and general assistance to guests while maintaining a professional customer-service approach
• Monitor event areas for hazards including blocked exits, spills, unsafe conditions, or other potential risks
• Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas as directed
• Maintain accurate Daily Activity Reports (DARs), incident reports, and other required documentation
• Maintain professional radio communication throughout the shift
• Follow all post orders, client instructions, company policies, and event-specific procedures
• Coordinate with event management, venue staff, emergency personnel, and other security officers when necessary
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while representing the security company and client
• Remain alert and attentive throughout the entire assignment

Qualifications

• Previous security, event security, customer service, military, or law enforcement experience preferred
• Unarmed security experience preferred but not required
• Strong observation, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Ability to remain calm and professional in crowded or high-pressure situations
• Reliable, punctual, and dependable
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to work independently and as part of a security team
• Basic smartphone and radio communication skills
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Must be available to work weekends
• Must be available for evening shifts
• Ability to obtain and maintain any required security registration, license, or certification applicable to the assignment

Schedule

• Part-time
• Schedule varies based on event needs

• Additional shifts may be available based on event schedules and staffing needs

Pay Rate

• $17.00 per hour
