Founded in 2006 with a team of just 11 developers, Ubisoft Sofia now celebrates 20 years as a leading AAA game development studio, home to over 220 professionals. Initially focused on platform ports and smaller-scale projects, the studio has steadily expanded its expertise and impact within the Ubisoft network.

Today, Ubisoft Sofia is part of Vantage Studios – a creative house within Ubisoft that brings together the talented teams behind Assassin’s Creed®, Far Cry®, and Rainbow Six®. As of 2026, the team in Sofia has contributed to 22 titles across major platforms, supporting some of Ubisoft’s most iconic franchises.

A longstanding co-development partner on the Assassin’s Creed series, Ubisoft Sofia has helped bring to life acclaimed titles such as Black Flag, Origins, Valhalla, Mirage, and Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Your role

As part of the Level Design family, The Event Scripting Designerwill work closely with Level Designers to conceptualize and integrate various scripted events and cinematic scenes into the engine throughout the production process in collaboration with the animation, programming, sound, and level art groups.

Your daily adventure

BE AWARE OF THE GAME AND LEVEL DESIGN DOCUMENTS

Environments, objectives, atmospheres, story, and style to understand the overall game experience

WORK DIRECTLY WITH QUEST DESIGNERS

To conceptualize impactful narrative events and define key realization needs for compelling storytelling

UNDERSTAND INTENTIONS REGARDING CUTSCENES AND CINEMATICS

Including the associated events and narrative flow

DETERMINE FEASIBILITY OF SCRIPTED EVENTS

In line with expectations and technical constraints

INTEGRATE ANIMATED, GAMEPLAY AND INTERACTIVE OBJECTS

As well as scripted cameras in collaboration with Level Design

TEST CINEMATIC SCENES AND SCRIPTED EVENTS

To ensure proper integration without conflicts with other game elements

CONDUCT R&D ON CINEMATIC SYSTEMS WHEN NEEDED

In collaboration with technical teams

Good understanding and hands-on experience

TIME MANAGEMENT SKILLS

Ability to organize own work and meet deadlines

GOOD COMMAND OF ENGLISH

Both written and spoken

EXPERIENCE WITH GAME DEVELOPMENT OR GAME ENGINES

Will be considered an advantage

KNOWLEDGE OF LEVEL EDITING TOOLS AND SCRIPTING

Such as Unreal or other engines is a plus

EXPERIENCE IN VISUAL PROGRAMMING

Will be a plus

FAMILIARITY WITH 3D SOFTWARE

Such as Autodesk 3D Studio Max and MotionBuilder is a plus
