Job Description

The Event Production Specialist will play a pivotal role in ensuring NYPA’s high priority meetings and live stream events are executed flawlessly. The Specialist will take charge of every stage of NYPA’s hybrid board meetings, guiding the process from initial pre-production planning through live technical execution, and finally managing post-production compliance.

They will be responsible for orchestrating all aspects of audio-visual setup and operations, ensuring seamless real-time technical support, and efficiently coordinating production resources and vendors. In addition, they will collaborate closely with senior executives to manage scheduling, logistics, and onsite delivery, fostering a cohesive and professional environment.

The successful candidate will bring strong production orchestration experience to enable improvements and best practices, and must demonstrate high competency in collaboration, coordination, stakeholder management and excellent communication skills to ensure the successful execution of these critical live events.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the setup, operation, and technical support of complex live event productions.
  • Oversee dry rehearsals and proactively address potential technical challenges.
  • Direct live switching between multiple video feeds, ensuring seamless transitions.
  • Ensure presentation materials are integrated and displayed at precise moments.
  • Resolve advanced equipment issues in real time, minimizing disruptions.
  • Guarantee high-quality execution and delivery of final recordings and livestreams.
  • Manage production logistics, including vendor coordination and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with senior executive teams for event management, schedules, and on-site execution.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Advanced expertise in audio, video, and lighting systems, including troubleshooting and optimization.
  • Ability to design and implement Audio-Visual (AV) solutions for complex events.
  • Leadership in live production environments, mentoring junior technicians.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • In-depth understanding of corporate event requirements and best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills for executive-level collaboration.
  • Ability to coordinate resolution of technical issues under pressure.
  • Strategic thinking to improve AV processes and enhance event outcomes.

Education, Experience and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience required.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in advertising, promotion, corporate communications, audio-visual technology, broadcast engineering or in a related area preferred.
  • Experience in corporate, film or news setting

Physical Requirements

Approximately 10% travel primarily within NY State.

Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.

The salary offered will be determined based on the successful candidates’ relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
