THE·TEAM is seeking a creative, organized, and motivated Event Operations Manager to join our team of event professionals in delivering best-in-class experiences for our clients. The primary responsibility of this role is to plan, manage, and execute live events, brand activations, and fan engagement experiences across sports and entertainment properties. This includes working across venues, tours, and large-scale events to deliver high-impact, immersive experiences for fans, partners, and clients.

Due to the nature of event delivery, this role requires the ability to travel up to 50%, including weekends, evenings and holidays.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Pre-Event Planning:
- Serve as a liaison between clients, vendors, and internal departments
- Lead team communications, including weekly status calls, key staff roles and responsibilities, budget, schedules, and project status
- Create and manage detailed timelines for team members, vendors, and clients
- Conduct venue/vendor research and manage supplier lifecycles: source, negotiate with, and oversee suppliers aligned with specific event needs
- Attend site visits and conduct venue evaluations
- Develop and manage budgets for each event
- Develop event presentations and proposals, including layouts and program designs
- Collaborate with creative teams to conceptualize and manage artwork design and production
- Partner with internal departments to determine operational, logistical, and technical requirements based on client objectives
- Secure necessary permits and ensure the event meets local health and safety regulations
- Prepare event materials and coordinate with logistics teams for deployment
- Oversee inventory and asset management for event materials
- Conduct post-event evaluations and recaps to showcase event success and ROI, capture key learnings and make strategic recommendations for future events
On-Site Event Management:
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients to ensure goals and objectives are met
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful event execution
- Manage and direct on-site staff, volunteers, and vendors
- Oversee event setup, execution, and teardown
- Implement operational logistics plans, including loading and unloading event assets
- Coordinate team travel to and from event sites
- Address and resolve on-site challenges as they arise
- Perform other duties as needed to support event success
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
- 2-4 years of experience in event production, event management, experiential marketing, or related fields preferred
- Familiarity with sports, entertainment, and live event environments
- Experience with event permitting in major markets or managing permitting via a 3rd party
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to changing event environments
- Proven ability to build relationships across teams, clients, vendors, and partners
- Strong active listening, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including experience leading or coordinating teams
- Strong work ethic with a willingness to take initiative and ownership of projects
- Experience negotiating vendor contracts and managing budgets
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and / or Google Suite
- Comfortable using power tools and operating forklifts (training will be provided)
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs
- Ability to work outdoors and on-site in varying weather conditions, including heat, rain, and other weather, as required by event needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Internship, freelance, campus, or hands-on event experience is valued
- Experience working with a variety of audiences, communities, or consumer groups
- Familiarity with various digital platforms such as Canva, event management software (Asana, Monday, ClickUp), event diagramming / floorplan software (cVent, One Plan, CAD / Vectorworks), is a plus
- Passion for live events, sports, entertainment, and fan engagement
