Globe Events brings that commitment to life through more than 50 events each year, convening industry leaders, policy makers, senior business decision makers and engaged Canadians to explore complex issues.

To support this growing portfolio, The Globe and Mail is seeking a collaborative, high-performing Event Marketing Lead to drive audience acquisition, registration, ticket sales and attendance across Globe and Mail events.

The ideal candidate is an experienced, highly organized marketer with strong project management skills and the ability to move comfortably between strategy and execution. They know how to identify and attract the right audience for each event, enjoy working across teams and thrive in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be supported by an event marketing and communications specialist, a dedicated website developer, external creative resources, The Globe’s national promotional platform and an internal customer experience team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Partner with the event team to shape marketing strategy, including event positioning, target audience, ticket pricing and revenue goals.
• Lead the development and execution of promotional strategies that drive audience acquisition, registration, ticket sales and attendance.

• Lead and coach direct reports, ensuring clear priorities, strong execution and alignment with The Globe’s standards.
• Manage event marketing expenses, attend weekly event meetings and provide regular registration reporting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Post-secondary degree in marketing, communications or event management.
• 5–7 years of experience in event marketing, audience development and campaign management.
• Proven experience identifying and acquiring hard-to-reach audiences, including senior business decision makers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with strong attention to detail.
• A passion for quality journalism and The Globe and Mail brand.
• Ability to work in our Toronto-based headquarters a minimum of two days a week and attend events to better understand our product and audience.
• Curiosity about how AI can be used to automate repeated tasks.
