Job Description

Employment Status: Part-Time

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly

Schedule varies based on events (2-6 hours per week)

Reports to: Marriage Coordinator

Summary:

Event Coordinator will serve as the liaison between St. Joseph Catholic Church and the families, in coordinating various parish services. This can include, but is not limited to, weddings, funerals, quinceañeras, sweet 16s, and other liturgical events (as necessary). The Event Coordinator will serve as Sacristan during the Liturgy at each event; playing a key role in creating a welcoming and enriching environment for our community and ensuring the success of various Catholic events.

Requirements

Position Responsibilities:

· Works with individuals in ensuring all Church teachings and Liturgical guidelines are followed while accommodating their wishes for Liturgies;

· Severs as Sacristan during Liturgies;

· Ensures the facility (Church, Chapel, or Hall) is prepared for event to include temperature control, setup, all Lectors have copies of the readings, etc.;

· Oversees the opening and locking up of the facilities, ensuring that all security procedures are followed;

· Works with individuals in the selection of the readings, Lectors, musicians; and the possibility of having Altar Servers;

· Coordinates and communicates with the Director of Liturgy;

· For weddings, works with the couple in identifying items to be used in the ceremony (ie: coins/arras, Rosary, Flowers to our Blessed Mother, lasso, etc.;

· After wedding ceremony, provides the couple their certificate, ensures the Church or Chapel is in orderly fashion to include the Sacristy and secures the signed license for St. Joseph Catholic Church records;

· For wedding and quinceañeras/sweet 16s, coordinates the rehearsal prior to the event date;

· Maintains positive relationships with staff, volunteers, and community members who use the facility.

· Performs other duties as assigned.
